Hoppers' Line- 4-6-0 BlueClaws' Line-1-5-1
Hoppers(22-12) remain in First Place in the South Atlantic League’s Northern Division, and they have been there since the Opening Day of the season, back in early April…The Jersey Shore Blueclaws(15-18) are currently in Fifth Place in the SALLY League…
Greensboro Grasshoppers Home Runs have been a very large part of the team’s success this season, and tonight at Jersey Shore was no different…Three Hopper Homers in this ballgame, and the Homer-Hitting Hoppers went to work early in the contest…It was Edward Florentino with a Two-Run HR, in the Top of the First Inning, and the Grasshoppers went in front 2-0, and they never looked back…
Florentino was just the third batter of the game, and his HR scored both Florentino and Yordany De Los Santos, and our good friend David and his wife Kathy were at the game on Tuesday night, and David sent this note….
Andy;
Vicki and I are in our usual seats (Section 109, Row 4, Seats 13-14).
And I can confirm that First Inning knock was L-O-O-O-N-G GONE!!!
David White is a law professor there at Seton Hall University, in New Jersey, and he gets to listen to a lot of our local Greensboro Grasshoppers games on the LOOOOOOOONG GONE Baseball Radio Network, and he knows and loves his baseball, and we are always glad when David and his wife Kathy are tuned in….
So the Hoppers got off to great start up there at Jersey Shore, on this Tuesday night….Florentino homered, Easton Carmichael homered, and Jhonny Severino also homered for the Greensboro Grasshoppers…
Here is the “Tale of the Tape”, on the Hoppers Homers from Tuesday night, at Jersey Shore….
Top 1st
Edward Florentino homers on a fly ball to right center field. Yordany De Los Santos scores.
GBO 2,JS 0
Top 6th
Easton Carmichael homers on a line drive to left center field.
GBO 3,JS 1
Top 9th
Jhonny Severino homers on a fly ball to center field.
GBO 4,JS 1

Greensboro Grasshoppers now with 55 team Home Runs on the season, and just two behind the league-leading Greenville Drive, who have hit 57 home runs as a team, for 2026….
The Tuesday night home runs were a big help, as the Hoppers got their four runs, on just Six Hits…Jhonny Severino was the only multi-hit man, he collected two base knocks, including his Two-RBI home run…Wyatt Sanford was 1-2/Double/2 BBs…Edward Florentino went 1-5, with his HR, and 2 RBI…Easton Carmichael goes 1-4/HR…And Jared Jones was 1-3…Yordany De Los Santos went 0-5/Run/SB…Sort of an interesting look, as the Hoppers were watching out for themselves at the plate during the game, it was Four Greensboro Grasshoppers that were Hit by a Pitch…Tony Blanco Jr., Ivan Brethowr, Wyatt Sanford, and Jared Jones all got hit by Jersey pitching, with Jersey Shore starting pitcher, Luke Gabrysh, hitting three Grasshopper batters, Blanco Jr., Brethowr, and Sanford…..Jared Jones, got plunked by BlueClaw reliever, Giussepe Velasquez…
Greensboro’s starting pitcher/Winning Pitcher, Carlson Reed, went 5 Innings, and Reed gave up 1 Run, on 2 Hits, with 4 BBs/5 Ks…Middle reliever Kyle Larsen goes 2 Innings for the Grasshoppers, allowing 0 Runs, on 1 Hit, with 2 BBs/0 Ks…Closer Alexis Torres worked 2 Innings, and Jersey got 2 Hits, but 0 Runs off of Torres, and he Walked One man, and struck out Three BlueClaw batters…
Looks to me like the Hopper Homers, and the good steady pitching, proved to the difference in this Hopper victory over Jersey Shore, in Game One of the Six-Game Set, for this week at Lakewood, New Jersey….
