Hernandez Concludes Opening Day of NCAA Winston-Salem Regional

BERMUDA RUN, N.C. – Kelvin Hernandez of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s golf team sits tied for 36th place after round one of the NCAA Winston-Salem Regional at Bermuda Run Country Club.

Hernandez carded a one-over-par (72) in the opening round to sit in a tie for 36th place on the 75-player leaderboard.

The junior recorded four birdies and 10 pars on Monday.

Ben James of Virginia and Manhanth Chirravui of Pepperdine are pacing the standings after both players notched a five-under-par (66) in the first round.

Virginia is leading the 14-team leaderboard behind a 13-under-par (271) team score in round one.

Among The Southern Conference (SoCon) at the Winston-Salem Regional, Tyler Jones of Western Carolina is currently tied for third behind a four-under-par (67), while Harris Barth of Furman is also tied with Hernandez at 36th place with a one-over-par (72).

UP NEXT
Hernandez will tee off for round two of the NCAA Winston-Salem Regional at 9:53 a.m. tomorrow at Bermuda Run Country Club.
