Boyce Claims First Place at 112th Carolinas Amateur Championship

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – B.J. Boyce of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s golf team earned first place at the 112th Carolinas Amateur Championship at the Governors Club on Friday.

Boyce finished atop the leaderboard with a 14-under-par (274) behind rounds of 71-65-75-63. His final round score of 63 moved him up 11 positions in the final round on Friday to secure first place.

“It means a lot more than just the trophy,” said Boyce. “It’s the late nights, early mornings and everything in between to show that all that time has paid off. It’s just more proof to work even harder to continue to get better to represent UNCG how it should be represented.”

Boyce looks to compete with the Spartans this fall after finishing the 2025-26 season third on the team with a 73.36 stroke average.
