Caitlin Clark makes WNBA history with dominant performance vs. Storm

No stranger to making history, Caitlin Clark put together a performance never before seen in a WNBA game on Friday night.
While leading the Indiana Fever to a 110-107 win over the Seattle Storm, Clark reached a new level of excellence, even by her high standards.

Clark scored 45 points in 29 minutes, hitting 11-of-18 shots from the field and going 6-for-10 from three. But that doesn’t come close to telling the whole story of her night.
She also dished out 10 assists, brought down a pair of rebounds and added four steals and two blocks as well.
Clark recorded the WNBA’s first-ever 40/10 game
Doing it all, Clark, at only 24-years-old, became the very first player in WNBA history to ever score 40 or more points and record at least 10 assists in the same game. Out of all the legendary names that have played in the WNBA, no one posted a 40/10 game until Clark on Friday.
Clark also moved up the Fever all-time list
And on top of her historic single-game effort, Clark also moved up an all-time list. She now has the fifth-most three-pointers made for the Fever with 204.
The win marked the Fever’s 15th of the season and improved their record to 15-10 and into a tie for first place in the Eastern Conference with the Atlanta Dream.
Clark is having her best professional season yet
Clark is enjoying her best season yet in her third year in the league. She holds season averages of 20.9 points, which would be a career-high, 7.8 assists and 4.0 rebounds through 21 games so far in 2026. This comes after she was only able to play in 13 games in 2025, a disappointing sophomore year on the court following a rookie season that saw Clark instantly show she can hang with the pros by registering 19.2 points 8.4 assists and 5.7 boards in a full 40 games.
Clark’s total basketball resume is already legendary
Often polarizing for due to the star power she carried with her from college, Clark entered “the W” as the No. 1overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft. She’s already put together a professional resume that includes three All-Star honors, a first team All-WNBA selection (2024) and a Rookie of the Year award.
Clark, who set countless season and career records in college, highlighted by becoming the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer, was twice named the College Player of the Year and Big Ten Player of the Year three times. She led Iowa to back-to-back appearances in the women’s national championship game.
