TOM KIM, BEN GRIFFIN, JASON DAY AND BILLY HORSCHEL WILL PLAY WYNDHAM CHAMPIONSHIP
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Tom Kim, Ben Griffin, Jason Day and Billy Horschel will play next week’s Wyndham Championship, the tournament announced today. The 87th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 5-9, 2026, at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
These players join two-time Major winner Justin Thomas, World No. 3 and defending champion Cam Young, three-time Major winner Jordan Spieth, five-time Major winner Brooks Koepka, 2025 Ryder Cup Captain Keegan Bradley, reigning PGA Championship winner and 2024 Wyndham winner Aaron Rai, FedExCup No. 7 Si Woo Kim, FedExCup No. 18 Ryan Gerard, FedExCup No. 19 Alex Fitzpatrick, FedExCup No. 24 Alex Smalley, 2023 Open Championship winner Brian Harman, superstar rookie Jackson Koivun as well as past champions FedExCup No. 28 J.T. Poston, Brandt Snedeker, Lucas Glover and Webb Simpson, three-time Ryder Cupper Patrick Cantlay, FedExCup No. 34 Harris English, FedExCup No. 37 Sepp Straka.
Kim, who captured his first PGA TOUR victory at the 2022 Wyndham Championship, broke a nearly three-year winless streak when he captured the Genesis Scottish Open earlier this month just weeks after he finished third at the U.S. Open. He is a four-time PGA TOUR winner with seven international wins also on his resume. He is 34th in FedExCup points and 35th in the Official World Golf Rankings. A native of Seoul, South Korea now living in Dallas, he will make his third Wyndham Championship start next week.
Griffin is 36th in FedExCup points and 19th in the Official World Golf Rankings. He won three times last season, but his best finishes this season are third at the Cadillac Championship and tied for third at the Charles Schwab Challenge. The University of North Carolina alumnus has excellent history at Sedgefield Country Club. In his four previous Wyndham Championship starts, he finished fourth in 2022, tied for seventh in 2024 and tied for 11th last year. In his three AJGA Wyndham Invitational tournaments at Sedgefield, he finished tied for 12th, sixth and tied for third.
Day is the 2015 PGA Champion and a 10-time PGA TOUR winner. A native of Australia now living in Forest Lake, Ohio, his best finishes this year are tied for second at The American Express and tied for sixth at the Texas Children’s Open. He is 74th in FedExCup points and 59th in the Official World Golf Rankings. He will make his third Wyndham Championship appearance and his first since 2022.
Horschel, who is back on TOUR following a severe hip injury, is 102nd in FedExCup points and 164th in the Official World Golf Rankings. His best finishes this season are tied for sixth at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and tied for 13th at last week’s 3M Open. Horschel will make his 13th Wyndham Championship start next week; he finished in the top 10 in four of his last five starts here including a runner-up in 2020 and a fourth-place run in 2023.
