Dropped by Western Guilford High School, this afternoon, prior to the Hornets’ football practice, and the players were already going to work lifting weights and doing work in the WG weightroom, prioir to taking things on out to the practice field…
We slipped just outside the weightroom door of the Coach Bill Hollifield Gymnasium, and got our preseason talk rolling…Rolling that is with Western Guilford Hornets head coach, Anthony Timmons…Got thoughts from Coach Timmons, on the ucoming 2026 season, and we also talked about what it means to stay home, and work and play, where things are watered…Coach Timmons working with his young Hornets, to make them better football players, and even better young men, as they go out into society, after high school is over..

We also spoke with Western Guilford assistant football coach Juwuan Bizzell, and Coach Juwuan tells us what is like to work with the Hornets, as their running backs coach…He came here from playing back at Clinton High School, “Home of the Dark Horses”, and he gives us a good perspective on what it was like in the Clinton Community, and how he wants to have Western Guilford embrace that same community feel, and use that to bring his team(Western Guilford Hornets football) and the entire Guilford College area/Western Guilford Community all together…
