Grasshoppers Take Saturday Victory Over Dash, 9-5
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the Winston-Salem Dash, 9-5, on Saturday, August 15. With the win, Greensboro improved to 27-20 on the second half of the season, while Winston-Salem fell to 23-23. The Grasshoppers outhit the Dash, 10-7, while Winston-Salem committed two errors.
Leading the way at the plate for Greensboro was outfielder Dylan Palmer, who went 2-for-2 with one RBI and two runs scored. Outfielder Jared Jones followed with a 2-for-5 performance, recording two RBI. Additional hits for the Grasshoppers were recorded by Wyatt Sanford, Yordany De Los Santos, Axiel Plaz, Jhonny Severino, Carlos Caro, and Josh Tate.
Leading the way for Winston-Salem was outfielder Derek Cerda, who went 3-for-3 with a double, one RBI, and one run scored. Additional hits for the Dash came from Ely Brown, Kyle Lodise, Kaleb Freeman, and Jackson Appel.
Left-handed pitcher Jacob Bimbi started on the mound for Greensboro and delivered five strong innings, recording seven strikeouts while allowing just one hit. Bimbi earned the win and improved to 5-3 on the season.
Right-handed pitcher Dylan Carmouche started for Winston-Salem, recording three strikeouts while allowing five hits, four runs—three earned—and three walks over 3.2 innings. Carmouche took the loss and fell to 1-2 on the season.
