Florentino Delivers Walk-Off Home Run in Grasshoppers’ Extra-Inning Win

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the Hub City Spartanburgers, 4-3, in extra innings on a walk-off home run by Edward Florentino. With the win, Greensboro improved to 33-22 in the second half of the season, while Hub City fell to 21-34. The Spartanburgers outhit the Grasshoppers, 4-3, as both teams committed two mishaps.

Florentino led Greensboro at the plate, going 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and one run scored. Jhonny Severino and Tony Blanco Jr. each recorded a hit for the Grasshoppers.

Maxton Martin led the Spartanburgers offensively, going 3-for-4 with two home runs, two RBI, and two runs scored. Evan Morrison recorded Hub City’s only other hit.

Right-handed pitcher Ronaldo Gallo made the start on the mound for Greensboro. He recorded three strikeouts while allowing one hit and one earned run over three innings. Right-handed pitcher Carlson Reed earned the win for the Grasshoppers, improving to 6-4 on the season.

Right-handed pitcher Ismael Agreda started for Hub City and tallied six strikeouts while allowing two hits, two runs (one earned), and one walk over six innings. Right-handed pitcher J’Briell Easley took the loss for the Spartanburgers and fell to 0-3 on the season.
