Gragg Claims Second Straight SoCon Setter of the Week Honor
SoCon Announces Volleyball Players of the Week
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Izora Gragg of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) volleyball team has been named The Southern Conference (SoCon) Setter of the Week for the second consecutive week, announced by the league office Monday.
This marks Gragg’s second time receiving the accolade as she earned the feat for the first time in her career last Monday, Aug. 31.
As the starting setter in 12 sets this week, Gragg tossed up an impressive 128 assists, averaging 10.67 assists per set. Her 55 assists in the team’s 3-2 win over East Carolina on Sunday marked a new career best. The senior added 5.0 total blocks on the week, with four of those blocks coming against East Carolina and marking another career match high.
“Our team fought hard this weekend and continued to compete together,” said Gragg. “We are excited to get back in the gym and keep improving this week.”
The Morganton, North Carolina, native also stood out defensively with 21 digs on the week. In addition, she was impressive behind the service line with five total aces across the three matches.
Through two weeks of play, Gragg is pacing the SoCon and stands out at 22nd nationally with a 10.68 assists per set average. In addition, her 203 total assists this season is second in the league and 52nd in the country.
As a team, the Spartans are leading the SoCon in assists per set (12.68) and kills per set (13.68), while standing at second with a .235 team hitting percentage.

The Spartans return to Greensboro for the Central Carolina Clash from Sept. 11-12. UNCG will first take on crosstown rival North Carolina A&T on Friday, Sept. 11 at 6:00 p.m. at the Corbett Sports Center. The team will then open the 2026 home slate with a doubleheader against Davidson at noon and North Carolina Central at 6:00 p.m. inside Bodford Arena. All regular season home matches are free admission.
