Back we are, and time to Rewind another Friday night’s worth of High School Football action, on our Saturday Morning Rewind…
We popped in the headlines, as Page did show and flex their muscles in knocking off Dudley last night, at Marion Kirby Stadium, plus the Northeast Guilford Rams were able to escape High Point’s Simeon Stadium, with a hard-fought victory over those “Stoked Boys” from West Stokes…
And there were other BIG wins too…How about the Southwest Guilford Cowboys getting their first win of the season??? Plus High Point Andrews bounced back, as the Red Raiders crushed Ledford, and the Grimsley Whirlies earned something like their 35th consecutive win, as they convincingly routed Western Guilford, 63-0…For Grimsley, it was the good ole, 9 Xs 7 =’s 63, and Grimsley has to keep making statements, with the Page Pirates now ever-so pushing Grimsley from behind…And Page says, “We are looking to catch up, and We will”…And we shall see…
And we have some catching up to do too, and I think we have got our Opening established, so time to Rewind the Rewind…You remember how the tune goes…

Millbrook-Rolesville football overtime ending postponed
The game experienced a pause in action during the fourth quarter. Once it resumed, the score was evened, setting up an overtime that was postponed.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The overtime ending of Friday night’s football game between No. 4 Millbrook and Rolesville was postponed.
When asked for the exact cause of the postponement, Millbrook High School Principal Monica Sawyer offered no comment. Similarly, Rolesville head coach Kevin Reddick said he was told not to speak to media about the matter.
The decision was an atypical call to end an atypical evening.
Around approximately 9:20 p.m. with just over eight minutes to play in the game, play was halted and all spectators and fans were asked to exit the stadium.
That stemmed from an apparent situation behind the scoreboard and near concessions at Wildcat Stadium at Millbrook High School. Amidst a capacity crowd in which many individuals lingered standing around the stadium, crowds of spectators could be seen rushing away from the area and toward the exits at the opposite side of the stadium.
Fights were the cause of the unease.
After a few minutes, officials paused play and the announcement was made for all spectators to exit the stadium. After roughly 30 minutes, play resumed with only the teams, media, officials, and school and city personnel (i.e., principals and police) remaining.
At the time of the pause, Rolesville led Millbrook 10-0. In the ensuing 8:16 of action, the Wildcats evened the score at 10 and opted to take a knee with 27 seconds left rather than run a final play. Millbrook appeared to be taking its momentum into overtime.
Only overtime did not come — at least not Friday night.
Administrators moved on to the field to discuss the decision with the coaches before the two teams ultimately exited.
The Rams already have a makeup game scheduled against Richmond for Monday, Sept. 28. That contest was previously postponed due to weather. That means the makeup date for overtime between the Wildcats and Rams will have to wait longer than Monday.
The exact date is to be determined. HighSchoolOT will keep you posted on the situation regarding the postponement as updates come available.

Dudley at Page and it WAS a Friday night…
Dudley was down, and it was down to their last chance and last drive of the game for Dudley…
Dudley’s Brion Seagraves receives the punt, and he is running right to left, on the Page grass field…
Seagraves gets a good return, and sets up Dudley, in Page territory…
The Dudley QB was a kid named Hendon Hooker, and some of you may remember “Hook”…
Well QB Hooker takes his Panthers down the field, and Dudley gets the ball down to around the Page 5-yard line and Dudley goes for it for all four downs….
And on the last play of the game, Hooker carries the ball, and he is headed to the End Zone and carries the ball to right at the One-Foot line, and it looks like Hendon Hooker may have got in for the Panthers’ game-winning Touchdown….
But the officials said Hendon came up short and did not cross the goal line and get into the End Zone….
And people were asking the question then, and some are still asking that same question now, “Did Hendon Hooker Get In”?????
It was so close he must have missed getting in by an EyeLash….
But, I can tell you, people are still asking that question today, “Did Hooker Get In”?????
And that was your ‘Instant Classic’…..

And for Mike, RIP, and long live Sunday Night Football, with Mike Patrick, Joe Theismann, and Paul McGuire….That Paul McGuire, was a Good One….
And that Hendon Hooker was a good one too, but I was really wondering if anybody else remembers that game, and Did Hooker Get In???
There you go, and last night’s game was a good one, but hard to top some of those Blasts From The Past, and they said they wouldn’t last…Hmmmm
