Touchdown Tally from Northern Guilford over Eastern Guilford, 42-14…
NG(5-4/4-0)/EG(3-5/2-2)…Player of the Game from this game was, Caden Cordisco…He was “Doing the Disco Duck” and he did not duck, he took flight like a True Nighthawk…Codisco, with Three Touchdown Receptions, on the TD passes from NG QB, the freshman Daniel Evans…Not James Evans, not JJ Evans, not Thelma Evans, not Michael Evans, not even Florida Evans…This was Daniel Evans connecting with “The Disco Duck”, Caden Cordisco for count ’em, Three TD passes…Now everybody out there on and around Spencer Dixon Road is doing, “The Disco Duck”….Not sure of the other sides of town, but on the North side of town, everybody’s doing, “The Disco Duck”…Written and narrated by Greensboro Grimsley-grad Rick Dees…Real first name was Rigg or Rigdon, but they called him Rick over at the old WGBG, and WCOG radio stations and also worked at WTOB in Winston-Salem…Check out the Disco Duck….Had to add in to make our Journey complete…
Here is that TD Tally for you courtesy of Rick Dees…Not really, he is the guy who wrote and produced “The Disco Duck” tune, back in the late 1970’s…But Touchdown Tally, is coming from our broadcast associate, Luke Lee…

REMAX Revolution Player of the Game from the Northern Guilford Nighthawks was The Disco Duck, Caden Cordisco, and he was first player taken by Nighthawks, and this kid can catch…Players Regulated Regularly, and it was Three Big WR TD catches for Cordisco in this contest…Large Win for the NG Nighthawks, and we saw a number of the ‘Hawks doing good work in their Victory…
First you had Cordisco, tearing that field up with his TD catches, and when William Preston had to go out with injury, Cordisco busted loose…Khai Dorsey had a big Ricochet Play Catch for NG…Charlie Jenkins was making receptions, William Preston had shard or key catches too for Northern…Cordisco, Preston, Dorsey, Jenkins, all of them were hauling in passes from NG QB Daniel Evans…Not sure of Evans total numbers, but he must have been something like 14-22 on the night, with 3 TD passes and 0 Interceptions…Solid night running for NG RBs, Christian Leach, Trent Timmons and Alex Preston…On the defensive end for Northern you had Lucas Hilliard working hard at DB in pass coverage and team tackling, plus Hilliard was returning punts for NG, and he was the NG Punter…Khan Achina played well on the D-Line for Northern Guilford…MJ Smith was solid on the offensive and defensive lines for Northern…Levi Bowser and Ruben King were strong back there in the defensive backfield for the Nighthawks..Both kickers for NG were productive, Kobe Guardado on the PAT Kicks, and two of the Guardado PAT Kicks were in essence, 27-yard Field Goals…He hit everything he attempted in this game…A perfect 6-6 on his PAT Kicks…Ethan Querter handled the Kickoffs for NG, and then had 7 KOs in this ballgame…
From Eastern Guilford showing out in this game, and that’s showing out, not showing off, and we saw a solid game from the EG QB Jaykin Jerman…RBs Jorden McGriff and Jaden Lewis were running hard and strong…Lewis had right at 42 yards on one series in the game….And Lewis was taking it from the 20 to the 30, from the 30 to the 40, and then from the 40 to mid-field at the 50…The kid was on a roll…Receivers Sam Haith IV, Kam’ren Mitchell, Chance Patton were good targets for EG QB Jerman…Daniel Tutt ended up doing the kicking for Eastern, after EG regular kicker, Tomas Reyes had to miss this game, due to soccer game assignment…Jason Turner was busy on returns and on defense for Eastern…Abram Holland handled the EG punting duties, and Tutt was playing defense along with his kicking duties…Xzavier Williams was doing defensive work, and he had a catch or two, also for the EG Wildcats…Very busy night back on defense for Dakota Riley, and more than once he found himself matched up Northern’s top receiver, and nine-times-out-of-ten that would be Caden Cordisco on this night….
Solid ballgame and next week, Northern will play host to the Southeast Guilford Falcons, while Eastern Guilford will faceoff with the Northeast Guilford Rams…
