Linberg’s Late Equalizer Earns UNCG Men’s Soccer 1-1 Draw at Wofford
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Trym Linberg’s second-half goal lifted the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s soccer team to a 1-1 Southern Conference (SoCon) draw against Wofford on Saturday evening at Snyder Field.
The Spartans controlled the opening half, outshooting the Terriers, 5-2, and earning three corner kicks. Seth Wilson made an early save for UNCG, while Wofford goalkeeper Evan Morris stopped Tiago Campos’ shot in the 37th minute to keep the match scoreless at halftime.
UNCG continued to press early in the second half, earning two corner kicks in the opening six minutes. Wofford broke through in the 58th minute when Fabian Menendez converted a penalty kick following a dangerous kick inside the 18-yard box.
