Here is the Guilford County area scoreboard….Many of the games started at 7pm, we have been a 7:30pm Guilford County start-up for many years, what happened??? Before school starts, starts are early???? New leadership at the county office, and we have changed??? Not sure, but they should try spreading the word to everyone, and let us know how this deal is going on..
Northwest Guilford lost??? That might be the one that kicks you in the rear for this week…Senior Andrew Attmore II did not start tonight for the Dudley Panthers, but once he entered the game, the Dudley Panthers were a different team, and upfield passes to C.J. Neely, Kordell Bartley, and Nasir Newkirk filled the air/skies….I know talent when I see it, and Kordell Bartley might be the best overall athlete in Guilford County…Seeing is believing…That kid can do some things, I have not seen before…Dudley with their quick outs and go routes, Dudley can stretch the field, and make the opposition get tired of chasing quickly….
Like I was saying, or asking, Northwest Guilford lost??? That was maybe the surprise score of the night…Williams 39, NWG 33….
The old saying often goes, that team, fill in blank, is at Mid-Season form….That might be the Grimsley Whirlies….See our work from Michael Fanning for MORE….
Eastern Guilford roughed up Northern Guilford and not like it was a fight, but like it was a football beating, and maybe EG is better than we all thought they might be…Coach Tony Aguilar did not leave the cupboard bare, when he left for Southeast Alamance…
Southeast Guillford motored over Southern Guilford and SEG might be improving at a rapid pace, with their young Falcons growing up fast, and taking flight…SEG has the Dudley Panthers at Bill Slayton Stadium next Friday night…
Northeast Guilford can be one of those “I told you so teams”…They told us they were going to be better this season, and that the Rams are back on the run, but they have a strong defense too…NEG may be a playoff contender, once they get all of their gears in order…The got their defensvie standing tall in Jamestown tonight…
Those scores for you…

Omg, Burlington William’s dropped 93 on Northwest????
@Keep it fair it was a typo..score was 39-34
And I remember saying 2 years ago watch out for Kordell and that he was just as good if not better than the names being mentioned. Kid is the real deal.
Is that right score for williams , yowza am sure the refs loved being in that game . How could they score that many even with a running clock .
The NW score was 39 to 34…Burlington Williams.
39-34 was the score for BW
I just did a little research.
Yes, 39-34 was that score, and 93-34 is what you call getting the numbers turned around…Lots of numbers going in and out of the old turnstiles on Friday night…We had great success with our JV Football Scoreboard and the Friday night scores all got rounded up too….
And on those numbers, if you ever need to call me with a score on Thursday nights or Friday nights after the games, call 336-601-4223…Usually on the website working here until around 2:15 or 2:30am…So shoot me a text or give me a call with your score..More come in by text these days than by phone call…
That 93-34 score Williams makes me think back to when the late Geoff Crompton was playing basketball for Burlington Williams, and he might have been able to help the Williams Bulldogs put up that sort of score…YES, back in the day…Back in the early 70’s my friends…And Geoff went on to play for the North Carolina Tar Heels, if memory serves me correctly….In the end his weight, or his being overweight, did him in…Big Jeff, who became even bigger Geoff….
Wth seven losses for the 4a metro??
These teams were clearly not prepared
They need to get to work.
Grimsley Dudley and that is it
Maybe southeast. If nwg get some momentum.
Debo is still one of the coaches at Burlington Williams. Glad he was able to come back this year. His workload is heavier since he’s become an SBI agent but it shows that he still loves the kids! Go Debo! In case ya don’t remember, he’s a 2012 Page Alum.
Let’s talk about the Smith game. What happened!? ?
Like Telly Savalas used to say on the Kojak shows, “who loves you baby?”….
Bringing it to you, WE DELIVER…..

Moore sets school record, Rockets roll to 68-20 week one win
By Silas Albright salbright@roxboro-courier.com
Person High School’s varsity football team ran all over Ben L. Smith en route to a 68-20 win to open the 2023 season Friday night in Roxboro.
Senior fullback Zikeus Moore rushed for six touchdowns and well over 200 yards to lead the Rockets and set new program records for touchdowns and points scored in a game by an individual.
“If I’m being honest, I thought I was going to get tackled on half of them,” Moore told The Courier-Times postgame. “I’ve been working in the offseason to get my speed up and I see it paid off a little bit.”
PHS junior athlete Dae’Jon Hodge also had a big night on the ground, rushing for over 100 yards and a touchdown, a 70-yarder in the second quarter.
Junior Trevquan Gary also scored for the Rockets on a forceful 13-yard run and sophomore John Elkerson broke several tackles on his way to an impressive 29-yard score late in the third quarter.
Two of the three touchdowns Person gave up were scored on kickoff returns by Smith senior Jamil Jeter. The other came on a 20-yard pass in the second quarter.
“I think my kickoff team needs some work, but overall the kids bonded together, fought together and did everything they were supposed to do,” PHS head coach Carl Smith said. “It got a little bit chippy in there, but for the most part we held our composure. We were physical and we came to play today. We had a couple of big hits, we had some great blocking. Hats off to the offensive line.”
The Rocket offense had no problem staying on schedule with the rushing game, but the few times PHS did look to the air, junior quarterback EJ Palmer looked comfortable.
He completed a pass to senior athlete Julian Farrish for a nice gain in Golden Eagle territory in the first half and tossed a couple more catchable passes that ultimately weren’t hauled in.
PHS junior cornerback Quante Bowman leaped to win a jump ball in the end zone for the first interception of Person’s 2023 slate in the first half.
Person’s defensive line consistently sent pressure into Smith’s backfield and made it hard for the Golden Eagle offense to get into much of a rhythm.
Person’s JV team hosts Halifax County (Va.) Thursday at The Rock at 6:30 p.m.
The varsity Rockets will head north across the state line for the Border Battle versus the Comets on Friday. Game time is 7 p.m.
