A good man who has had a good ride working with/for WSJS Radio/600 AM and for Learfield Sports, over in Winston-Salem…Dave Polaski broadcasts local high school football games for WSJS Radio/600 AM…
Dave is a college football, basketball, and baseball studio host for college games on Learfield Sports…He does the high school games on Friday, and hits the college games on Saturday during football season, and then he goes several different days a week, for basketball and baseball…
A true sportsman, and also a former college baseball player for the Ohio University Bobcats…
Dave Polaski well thought of, among the local and even national sports circles…A big hockey fan with deep NHL roots, and a huge baseball fan, with his blood flowing with NY Mets platelets…
Our thoughts go out today to Dave on the loss of his mother…She passed away back on Saturday, over in Winston-Salem…Dave and his mom traveled all over together, and she was his biggest fan, listening to all of his games, that she could…We will keep Dave Polaski in our prayers during this time of extreme loss…
Dave put the word out on Facebook earlier in the day, on Sunday…..
Wanted to give everyone an important update.
Mom passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, with me by her side.
As many of you know, she had been battling some pretty serious health problems during the last couple of years. I’m so proud of her for putting up the fight that she did & staying around long enough to see Alex learn how to walk & talk.
She was always my biggest supporter & followed me from coast-to-coast. She’d always listen to my broadcasts & was always quick to call whenever one of my teams won a big game.
As far as funeral services… I’m thinking that we’ll do a viewing & service in Winston-Salem sometime soon, possibly within the next week or so.
I’m also planning on doing a Celebration of Life service up in Jersey sometime in 2025, possibly in late-spring / early summer up in the Eatontown area. That would allow people who can’t do a trip to NC on relatively short notice the chance to attend, as well.
Thanks, all… love you, Mom.
Dave is a great dude. Sorry to hear about his mom’s passing.
RIP and thoughts with Dave and his family.
