The Bishop McGuinness Villains took on the Salisbury High School Hornets in the 2024 Tyler Lewis Hoopfest and used a decisive 1st half to pull out a victory. The Hornets ratcheted up the pressure in the 2nd half and got the game to within 6 points, but the Villains steady guard play and offensive execution held off the rally.

Senior Nicholas Graves hit 3 3-pointers in the 1st half, in part of his team leading 18-point game (7 assists and 5 rebounds). Forward Alex Waterfield added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. In his first game of the season, junior Thomas Thompson finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds.

In their next matchup, the Villains host the Albemarle Bulldogs on 12/10.
