15 Hits Lift the Grasshoppers Over the Cyclones, 8-4 For Third Straight Win
Greensboro Grasshoppers win over Brooklyn Cyclones on Thursday night, at First National Bank Field with Hoppers’ SS Konnor Griffin going 4-5/Double/2 Runs/2 RBI/2 SBs…Griffin did commit one error in the field at shortstop, and it kind of brings back the memories of Derek Jeter at SS for the old Greensboro Hornets back in the day, with Greensboro Hornets official scorer David Ogi Overman at the helm, and having to hand out all those errors to Jeter…

On Thursday, Ogi Overman lost his wife Janet to MS, as she passed away after many years of suffering….We dedicate this Greensboro Grasshoppers, Greensboro Professional Baseball victory to Ogi Overman, for his years of serving his wife Janet in all of her times of need, and she needed much help nearly every day of her married life to Ogi….

Thoughts and Prayers going out to Greensboro Baseball Man, David Ogi Overman tonight, as he mourns the loss of his loving wife Janet…Hoping the best things possible for Ogi, in the days to come….RIP:Janet Overman

Again, Konnor Griffin was named our REMAX Revolution Player of the Game for his efforts in the Thursday night Greensboro Grasshoppers win…Griffin now batting at .331 for the season, with 13 HRs/55 RBI, and he has gone 44-53 in Stolen Bases…That’s what gets our attention the most, those 44 stolen bases and being caught stealing just 9 times, in 53 attempts…And oh yeah, Konnor Griffin has already scored 77 runs in his 80 games played this season, and we are giving his combined numbers for his time in Greensboro, with the Grasshoppers, and his time earlier with the Bradenton Marauders…Some kind of numbers for “That Guy”….

Geovanny Planchart also with a very solid night, going 3-4/Double/Run/RBI…Titus Dumitru was drawing Four(4) walks in his five plate appearances, and he scored a run…Four walks, that’s a busy night….And Callie Cline will tell us more below, but you had Keiner Delgado, Javier Rivas, and Shalin Polanco with two hits each…Again, it was Fifteen(15) hits on the night for the Greensboro Grasshoppers and those Boys of Summer were busy at the plate….They pretty much cleaned their plates….

The Greensboro Grasshoppers now (3-0) vs. the Brooklyn Cyclones this week, and the Hoppers having much success so far, versus the South Atlantic League Northern Division, First Half Winners….Hoppers carrying the Northern Division current second half banner, at (20-7)…..

Now here is MORE on the Thursday night game, from Callie Cline with the Greensboro Grasshoppers Media, at www.gsohoppers.com….
