High School Football Tonight(9/19/2025) and our Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists Games of the Week on GreensboroSports Radio and The Cass Kickoff is Coming

High School Football Tonight(9/19/2025)

Grimsley(3-0) at Southwest Guilford(1-3) 7pm
Whirlies back in action, after last week’s off date and SWG fell last week to Kernersville Glenn…Grimsley looking to get all those rested receivers plenty of touches tonight, and the defense hungering for another shutout…Whirlies going to “The Ranch”, but the visiting team will be the ones gathering around the postgame corral tonight…

Southern Guilford(2-2) at Page(2-1) 7pm
This will be one of our three HS Football Games of the Week from Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists…Demetri Morrison on the call(GreensboroSports Radio)), from the Marion Kirby Stadium…Hall of Fame Night at Page HS, and State Champion head football coach Kevin Gillespie will among those honored…Page seeing former Pirates assistant coach Garrett Mills coming back and leading his SG Storm into “The Kirb”…Page led by senior QB Anthony Johnson and his Pirates will face a strong SG Storm offense led by RB/QB/WR/KR man, and he also plays on defense, RJ Scott…Demetri Morrison has this game for you on GreensboroSports Radio….

Dudley(1-3) at Ragsdale(0-4) 7pm
Dudley got it going on, last week at Northeast Guilford, where the Panthers topped the Rams, by two points…Should be Dudley by more than 2 over Ragsdale tonight…And like the Grimsley-SWG game, this is the conference-opener for both teams…Brayden Jeffries is getting his QB role down good now…He has running help from Michael Boone, and from Robert McCollum…Kingston Davenport and Vermont Carmack make for very good receivers…Jalen Jones and Devin Cotton join McCollum to form that very solid Dudley Defense…Dudley is working their back in 2025, and look for that Return to Glory to continue tonight, in Jamestown…

Smith(1-2) at Western Guilford(3-1) 7pm
Western has that “Three-Headed Monster” at running back in Timothy Baker, Caleb Moore, and CJ Blevins…We have to credit Smith first-year head coach Paris Baxter for keeping the Smith Golden Eagles relevant even in tough times, and Smith has been playing pretty much inspired football throughout this season….Again, got to credit that to Coach Baxter…Coach Timmons, at Western Guilford has made his Hornets believe they can win again, and they have been doing just that…Black Hat Pride will ride around the Doug Henderson Football Stadium at WG tonight…

Southeast Guilford(2-2) at Glenn(2-2) 7pm
Coach Earl Bates has two RBs that can give him 150 yards each per game, and watch for both Caleb Jackson and Travis Motley to be right at those numbers again this evening…The Glenn Bobcats will hard-pressed to bottle up both Jackson and Motley…One of them, and it is highly possible, that both of them will burn you, and they will meet you in the End Zone…

Eastern Guilford(2-2) at Orange(0-4) 7pm
This is just me saying this, but I bet you Orange head coach Fritz Hessenthaler is fit to be tied…Tied down, that is, because his boys are sitting at (0-4) and EG head coach Tim Bagamary, and any coach that has coached knows, that any man that approaches the game like Coach Fritz does, my friends, they are not going to take Losing Lightly…Better be careful, and again this is me just talking, but this looks like it might be a ‘Trap Game’ here for the EG Wildcats…On the road at Hillsborough, and facing the (0-4) Hessenthaler team…EG’s QB Javion Majette will have to on his Ps and Qs, and RB Tyler Whaley-Melvin must bring his A-game and his full face mask helmet with him, as the ‘Cats head out to Hillsborough…The Samari Smith-lead EG D must be super ready too…Writing quite a bit about this game, but anything involving game with Coach Fritz Hessenthaler gets my attention…

High Point Andrews(4-0) at Randleman(2-2) 7pm
The players must lead the HPA Red Raiders, but they are getting some really nice early-season motivation from their first-year head coach, Jarmon “Mook” Reynolds…Andrews at (4-0) and will the Red Raiders be going to (5-0)…Only three Unbeatens left in our local community, Andrews, Grimsley, and High Point Christian…I will have to keep on picking Andrews to win, until they lose…You have to stick with the wild horse until somebody tames it…Andrews has a steady QB, RB, and WR…Cayden Zellous is the QB and he is doing well…Not sure if he is related to the Zellouses who used to QB over at Grimsley..The RB Von Martin is also one of the top receivers for Andrews…Von Martin, not to confused with skier Lindsay Vonn, but Martin is startin to be partin the Red Seas, so the Red Raiders can run on through…Let’s what the 22 can do down at Randleman…11 on offense, and 11 on defense…Must Play as One….

Montgomery Central(2-2) at High Point Central(0-4) 7pm
Will be learning some things about the HPC Bison before the season is over, but really haven’t seen much from them yet…Last time that Cetral was really competitive was back when Wayne Jones was coaching the team…Not sure how many points Central has scored this season, but it has not been many…Coach Brent David was a defensive specialist, but he is going to have to get his men on the scoreboard numerous times, to get his men back where they can win…

Mount Tabor(0-4) at Northwest Guilford(1-3) 7pm
We will have this game for you on GreensboroSports Radio, with Mike Fanning at the helm, and the NWG Vikings are in need of another win, in a bad way…Let us hope with this being an important Murphy Wainer Game of the Week, that the Vikings can rise to the occasion and find the win they have been searching for…Moving forward in a positive way will be predicated on how successful NWG can be at QB…That is where it has to start, and not sure who will start on Friday night, but if it were me, I would not leave out the idea of running some WildCat formations, with Rakem Hammock as the NWG WildCat QB…Why not??? Hammock gets the direct snap and he has the wheels, so let him deal…I like this better than the end-arounds/Jet-Sweeps…Snap it to him, and let him find/pick his hole, and preferably an outside line for his direct run…NWG has the veteran personnel, and it is time for the Viking Seniors to step up and make/leave their mark…As the old saying goes, The Time Is Now…Old Washington Redskins coach George Allen used to always say, “The Future Is Now”…Time to go get it, and bring it back to the NWG fold…Game Time 7pm on GreensboroSports Radio with Mike Fanning…

Oak Grove(2-2) at Northern Guilford(3-1) 7:30pm
This will our other game on GreensboroSports Radio…Three games and this might be the best of all, you just never know..But, Northern Guilford is coming off of a BIG road win from last Friday night, at WS Reagan…Reagan had not given up a touchdown all season long until NG scored on them more than once last Friday evening, in Pfafftown…Nighthawks quarterback Jaxson Kemp was named the News and Record’s Player of the Week from last week’s high school football games, and we congratulate him, on that honor…The Cass Jewelers Kickoff is coming at 7:30pm in this one here from the Johnny Roscoe Stadium, and again this game can be heard Live and later on Replay on GreensboroSports Radio….Northern will want to try and loosen up the Oak Grove Grizzlies defense by running RB Amare Akers at them, and his strong/solid running should allow Jaxson Kemp to put the ball in the air to his top receivers in C.J. Morrison, Greyson Council, and Will Preston…Up front Sam Bagley leads that experienced O-Line, and you have to trust Sam’s leadership…On defense, if anybody out-tackles Chance Crews, it will be because the Grizzlies are running away from the NG top LB….Bobby Bah leads the NG defensive secondary and the Hillard kid, a sophomore DB, has had picks in two straight games…Cornerstone Game for Northern Guilford as this will wrap up their non-conference schedule…Be sure to check us out on GreensboroSports Radio, with that Cass Jewelers Kickoff coming up at 7:30pm..

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability/SSEAS (Durham, NC) (1-3) at Northeast Guilford(3-1) 7:30pm
Southern Durham at Northeast Guilford and the NEG Rams will want to get back on track, after last week’s home loss at Bill Bookout Stadium to the Dudley Panthers…Dudley put pressure on the NEG QBs, Jaquez Crawford and Zorian Campbell, and NEG will need to be ready to combat that type of pressure tonight, from Southern Durham/SSEAS…Aaryn Tate, Price Hansford, and Titus Duff II are outstanding receivers and runners for the NEG Rams…Elijah Jones is a very good receiver out of the backfield for the Rams, and he sets up and hauls in a lot of short screen passes…I watched NEG vs. Dudley, but can’t give you a lot on the NEG D…They got hit hard by the Dudley Panthers, and the NEG O-Line felt pressure all night long from Dudley too, and it was hard for NEG to find an answer for Dudley’s Wishbone Backfield, with the two RBs, split back there behind the fullback…NEG can thrive when they get the ball to Tate, Hansford, or Duff in the open field…Get the ball in those guys hands and usually you are headed upfield, and good things are bound to happen….

  1. Andy, Cayden Zellous is one of the youngest Zellous Brothers from Dudley (Jon) and Grimsley (Chris). They are a good family.

  2. Really did like the Zellous brothers and they did great things, and are still doing great things…Cayden has led his team to a perfect record to begin the season…
There was one Zellous brother who was a cheerleader at Grimsley, and he may have had the strongest motor of all of them…I am telling, that kid could really goooooo…He was one talented individual, and again they are all…GREAT group of student athletes, The Zellous Family/Brothers…

  3. Andy,
It is not that the veteran/senior players are not stepping up…the Coaches are holding them back!
