High School Football Tonight with Round Three of the NCHSAA Playoffs
7-A:
WEST
#8 Jack Britt(7-4) at #1 Grimsley(11-0) 7pm
Looking at the Jack Britt Buccaneers they have QB Gavin Stokes who has gone 117-199 passing this season, for 1,582 yards with 18 TDs/10 INT…Stokes with 261 yards rushing good for 2 TDs…Top Britt rusher is Eric Payne with 152 carries good for 919 yards and 9 TDs on the ground…Top receiver is Javontae Brooks with 42 receptions for 582 yards and 4 TDs….Grimsley led by QB Faizon Brandon, RB Ty Shoemake, WRs Kaden Catoe, Khyan Battle, Hudson Cooper, Patrick Carter, and TE D.J. Howerton…Grimsley Defense sometimes quiet, but always deadly with guys like Nasir Crawford up front….

6-A:
WEST
#11 Dudley(8-4) at #3 Gastonia Ashbrook((11-0) 7pm
Top Ashbrook Greenwave QB is AJ McClain who has thrown for 880 yards on 48-112 passing with a high percentage of TDs vs. INT., with McClain having 17 TDs vs. just 3 INT…Watch out for McClain on the tuck and run, for he has run the ball 60 times for 353 yards and 4 TDs…Top runner for Ashbrook is Savion Lindsay with 134 carries for 839 yards and 9 TDs…RB Martino Smith with 80 carries for 533 yards and 6 TDs…Dudley led by their very strong running game paced by Michael Boone, Robert McCollum, and QB Brayden Jeffries…Each one of those Dudley runners can be good for right at 100 yards per game…Top Dudley receiver is Vermont Carmack, and on defense, Dudley led by LB Robert McCollum…McCollum is the real deal all over the place for the Dudley Panthers…

#10 Kings Mountain(8-4) at #2 Northern Guilford(10-1) 7pm
Sophomore QB leading the Kings Mountain Mountaineers with KJ Bell having a productive year, as he has passed for 2,047 yards, going 151-244, good for 21 TDs/12 INT…The Bell kid is a sophomore, and stands tall and lean, at 6’4/175…Kings Mountain seems to go best when throwing the football as their top rusher, Khareem Coleman, has run for 543 yards on 89 carries with 3 TDs…Top receiver is Tex Vaughn who has 683 yards on 39 receptions, and he has scored 11 TDs…Very good athlete is WR Xavier Hutchens, who has 45 receptions for 534 yards and 4 TDs…Kings Mountain seems to a much more efficient team when throwing the ball, so that means Charlie Griffin and Jude Keyser will have get rolling hard up front on the NG Nighthawks defensive line…Got to get pressure on Bell, and be in his face all night long…NG LBs like Chance Crews, Noah Smith, Hunter Crum, and Ronald Barclay will need to be getting back there and disturbing Bell too…Got to ‘ring the Bell’, and the NG offense led by senior QB Jaxson Kemp, RB senior Amare Akers, WR seniors Greyson Council and C.J. Morrison should be right and ready….Sam Bagley leads that NG Nighthogs offensive line, while junior kicker Kobe Guardado is money…We will have this game for you on GreensboroSportsRadio, with Coach Randy Norris ready to break this game down for you, into many different sections and pieces…GreensboroSports Radio, and that is the spot on your internet and computer dial….This is the Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists Game of the Week…

5-A:
EAST
#7 Rocky Mount(8-3) at #2 Northeast Guilford(9-2) 7pm
Rocky Mount Gryphon QB, the senior Alex Beasley, has thrown for just 379 yards going 18-40, for 4 TDs/3 INT…This Rocky Mount club is balanced running football team with RB Tavoris Parker going for 775 yards on 99 carries, with 9 TDs on the ground…RB Cquarhion Mitchell has 742 yards on 100 carries, with 12 TDs rushing…RB Tylik Harrell with 129 carries for 660 yards and 11 TDs…Rocky Mount has run for 37 TDs and passed for just 7 TDs…NEG Rams up front like Antonio Escobar, and even DB/LB Dre Deese are going to have to have that run-awareness about them, and crowd the line, and then get into that Gryphon backfield…NEG still rotating QBs Jaquez Crawford and Zorian Campbell, and both of them have been doing a good job running Coach Antonio Hall’s varied offense…BreVon Canty and Aaryn Tate give the NEG QBs two very potent receivers, while Campbell is also a very good runner and teaming with Elijah Jones to spark the NEG running game…

4-A:
EAST
#7 High Point Andrews(9-2) at #2 West Craven(10-1) 7pm
This West Craven Eagles’ QB is most impressive player that I have posted numbers for tonight…Senior DJ Davis, at 6’1/195, and those numbers are impressive, but Daivs passing gets better, as he has thrown for 1,788 yards, going 89-159 on his passes, good for 23 TDs/9 TDs…But, it doesn’t stop there…Davis has run the ball 142 times for 987 yards and 21 TDs on the ground running…Davis with 2,775 total yards and 44 TDs…This guy is dangerous…West Craven has Xavier Cuthbertson with 42 carries for 339 yards and there’s Christopher Person Jr, who has 368 yards, on 39 carries…Top receiver Xavier Cuthbertson with 36 receptions for 846 yards and 9 TDs…Davis still the top West Craven player to watch out for…He is a problem…Andrews with David Hill at QB, Vonn Martin running hard as the Red Raiders best athlete, solid yards running and receiving for Martin all season long…Top overall receiver for Andrews is Mike Hughes…Andrews really has their work cut out for them, especially with this game being on the road…
