Game Summary:
Attendance-4,317
Time of Game-3:31
Game Time Temp-78 Degrees

The REMAX Revolution Player of the Game was the Greensboro Grasshoppers SS Wyatt Sanford…Sanford went 3-4, with a Home Run, a Double, Walk, HBP, SB, 2 RBI/2 Runs…

Easton Carmichael for the Hoppers was also hot at the plate going 3-4, Double, Walk, RBI, 2 Runs…Hoppers with 14 hits on the night…Six of the base knocks coming from Sanford and Carmichael…Jared Jones was 2-4/BB/Run/RBI…Shalin Polanco was 1-5/Bunt Single/Run…Lonnie White Jr. went 1-4/BB/2 Runs/RBI/SB…Ariel Plaz was 1-3/BB/HBP/Run…Jhonny Severino goes 1-4/BB/Run/RBI…Brian Sanchez was 1-4/BB/RBI…Matt King went 1-4/Run/2 RBI…Again, the Grasshoppers had 14 hits, and every Hopper had a hit on the night…Greensboro walked 7 times, and struck out 9 times in the contest…On the other end, Asheville walked 9 times, and struck out 8 times…

Hoppers’ starting pitcher Hung-Leng Chang only lasted 2/3s of an inning, allowing 6 runs on 4 hits, with 2 BBs/0 Ks…Six straight runs to start off the game in First Inning from Asheville, and they roughed up Chang…Grasshoppers’ reliever Alexis Torres came on the Top of the First for Chang, and Torres was able to quiet The Storm…Torres did not give up a run, and the Tourists only got two hits off of Torres, while he Walked two Tourists and he struck out three…He/Torres was the steadying factor in the game, and after Torres, Connor Oliver was able to enter the game, and he gave the Greensboro Grasshoppers stability on the mound…Oliver gives up No Runs, on 2 Hits, with 3 BBs/5 Ks…Jose Garces and Yulian Quintana finished up the night on the hill for the Hoppers, and those two combined to work 2 1/3 innings, and there were No Runs/1 Hit, and 2 BBs coming off of Garces and Quintina…

Other than the early struggles from Hung-Leng Chang, this was a good night for the Hoppers’ pitching staff…After Chang, it was 8 1/3 Innings from the Hoppers’ pitching staff…They gave up NO Runs, 4 Hits, 7 BBs/8 Ks…The best part of that equation is the NO RUNS…The pitching staff after Chang, gave the team a chance to win…Down 6-0 early, and that was all the scoring for the Tourists in this game…The big inning for the Grasshoppers was the fifth inning, where they posted five runs…Getting two runs in the bottom of the first, got them into the game, but the fifth was their explolsion for the night…And then the Hoppers added on Three More Runs in the bottom of the eighth, and that left the table set for the Victory, and the Greensboro Grasshoppers got the Victory…

Top hitters on the night for Asheville were Cesar Hernandez and Caden Powell…Hernandez went 2-4/BB/RBI, while Powell was 2-5/Run…For the second time this week, Asheville relief pitcher Eurys Martich blew up…The other night he loaded the bases with walks, but the Hoppers could only touch him up for one run…Saturday night the Hoppers got to Martich, and handed him the loss…This time around, Martich gave up 4 runs, on 3 hits, with 1 BB/1 K…He has a knack for throwing balls all over the place, and if you are patient at the plate, with Martich throwing, he will probably give you something…

During the course of the contest there were some well-placed Hopper hits…You had the Homer by Sanford, Sanford hit a Double off the fence in right field, and Easton Carmichael had a well-placed Double to right….I guess you could say, that the Greensboro Grasshoppers were on the ball, and they picked up the slack for their teammate Hung-Leng Chang, when he struggled and had to leave in the First Inning…

Hoppers in First Place in the SALLY North, and Up Next they have the Asheville Tourists(3-5) at the Greensboro Grasshoppers(6-2) on Sunday afternoon at 2pm…Family Fun Day on Sunday, with the Kids and Family playing catch on the field before the game, and then the Kids Run the Bases after the game…If you can’t make it to the game, or you love to listen while you are at the game, You Can Listen Live, when you CLICK HERE for the broadcast from the LOOOOOOOONG GONE Baseball Radio Network….
