Greensboro Grasshoppers see their record vault up to (52-28), and the Hoppers are now at (11-3) in the Second Half…Bowling Green falls to (54-25), and the Hot Rods drop to (7-7) in Half #2…The Grasshoppers also have now secured another Season Series Win…Hoppers up 4-1, vs. the Bowling Green Hot Rods going into Game Six of this week’s Six-Game Set…Game Six on Sunday afternoon at 2pm, at FNB Field…FNB, the place to be, to see, the team that is “Double G”…The Greensboro Grasshoppers…This is the ‘Season of the Summer, in the SALLY, and we will see it all get going again, on Sunday…

Hoppers got all they needed on Saturday night, and then some…The Hoppers had this game closed out in the Top of the Ninth Inning, when Greensboro’s center fielder Edward Florentino caught a Fly Ball off of the bat of Ryan McCoy, that WAS supposed to the very last out of the game, but the home plate umpire called a BALK on Hoppers’ Pitcher, Treyson Peters…So, McCoy had supposively Flied Out to CF to end the game, and the crowd had just gone WILD, and the Umpire calls the BALK…Narciso Polanco was given second base on the BALK call, and the Hot Rods’ Ryan McCoy was allowed to stay at the plate and contiune his at-Bat, and he eventually reached first base on a Walk…After the McCoy gift, Bowling Green’s Marshall Toole flied to the Grasshoppers’ left fielder, Josh Tate, and in turn, that is how the game finally ended…Not McCoy to Florentino, but Toole to Tate…Just very happy the Hot Rods did not score, there in the Top of the Ninth Inning, after all the extras we were seeing….The umpires extended that inning, but the right team, The Greensboro Grasshoppers ended up Winning…

Another very solid night at the plate from the Hoppers’ Sammy Stafura, as he went 2-4/2 Runs/2 RBI…Stafura has also pulled his batting average up to .306 on the season…An improvement of around 75 points by Stafura, over the last three-four weeks…Our REMAX Revoultion Player of the Game for this one was Brian Sanchez…Sanchez was 2-4, with a Double and a Triple, plus he scored 2 Runs, and he Drove in One Run…

Greensboro’s Murf Gray belted his 13th Hopper Homer of the season, plus he was 1-4/Run/3 RBI…Nice shot by Gray, to give the Grasshoppers the early 3-0 lead with his Three-Run Shot, in the Bottom of the First Inning…Josh Tate for the Hoppers went 1-3/BB/Run/RBI/SB…Axiel Plaz was 1-4/RBI…Easton Carmichael was 1-4/Run…Dylan Palmer went 1-3/BB/Run, and Palmer is a constant sparkplug, keeping the Hoppers running on all cylinders…Edward Florentino goes 0-3/BB/Run…Jhonny Severino was 1-4, and Severino was a litte bit more quiet than usual…

Greensboro Grasshoppers starting pitcher, Bryan Mena, goes 4 1/3 Innings, allowing 6 Runs, on 3 Hits, with 4 BBs/3 Ks, and I am thinking the same thing the rest of you are probably thinking…How did Bryan Mena give up all those runs(6) on just Three Hits…Well, all the Hits off of Mena, were Home Runs…And those can add up, pretty quick…Three-Run HR by Jhon Diaz, a Two-Run homer from Connor Hujsak, and a Solo Home Run from Nathan Flewelling..

The Hoppers’ Winning Pitcher, Victor Cabreja, worked 1 2/3 Innings, giving up 1 Run, on 3 Hits, with 2 BBs/1 K…Over the Last Three Innings of the contest, Jacob Bimbi and Treyson Peters combined to give up 0 Runs, on 0 Hits, with 1 BB/4 Ks…Bimbi and Peters shut down the Hot Rods…

The Rods got Six Hits in the ballgame, and those Six Hits, came from Six Different Hot Rod Players…Rods’ catcher Nathan Flewelling was active at the plate, as he went 1-2/HR/3 BBs/2 Runs/RBI…Marshall Toole goes 1-2/2 BBs/Run/RBI…Connor Hujsak was 1-4/HR/BB/Run/2 RBI…Jhon Diaz went 1-3/HR/3 RBI…

Bowling Green’s Starting Pitcher, Trevor Harrison, worked 5 Innings, and he gave up 6 Runs, on 6 Hits, with 2 BB/4 Ks, and he gave up the Three-Run Home Run, to the Hoppers’ Murf Gray…The Losing Pitcher for Bowling Green was LHP Garrett Gainey, he was a 2 2/3s Inning outing, with 3 Runs, on 4 Hits, with 1 BB/0 Ks…

Really sort of one of those Back-and-Forth Games, with the Hoppers going up 3-0 early, and then the Hot Rods tied at 3-3 right quick, and before you know it, the Rods went out in front, in this game…Rods led 4-3, after 4 Innings…Then the Hoppers tied this game up, after the home team pushed across another run in the Bottom of the Fourth…Game reset, is Greensboro Grasshoppers 4, Bowling Hot Rods 4…Then when you turn around a few times, the Hot Rods were up, 7-6, after Five Innings…The Hoppers scored two runs, and took the lead back, going on top, 8-7, at the end of Six Innings…Hopper go on and Win this sucker, 9-7…
