PGA CHAMPIONSHIP WINNER AARON RAI RETURNS TO WYNDHAM CHAMPIONSHIP
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Aaron Rai, winner of the 2026 PGA Championship, will play the Wyndham Championship next month, the tournament announced today. The 87th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 5-9, 2026, at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
Rai joins a field that includes World No. 3 and defending champion Cam Young, five-time Major winner Brooks Koepka, FedExCup No. 7 Si Woo Kim and FedExCup No. 19 Alex Fitzpatrick.
Rai won the PGA Championship May 17 at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pa., shooting a final round 5-under 65 to take a three-stroke win over Alex Smalley and Jon Rahm. He became the first English-born player to win the PGA since Jim Barnes in 1919. In addition to his PGA Championship win, Rai’s best finishes this year are fifth at the OneFlight Myrtle Beach Classic and tied for 11th at the U.S. Open. He is currently 33rd in FedExCup points and 20th in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Rai captured his first PGA TOUR win at Sedgefield in 2024, but with five international victories already to his credit, he was far from a rookie. He battled through 72 holes in just three days after the opening round was delayed until Friday due to the remnants of Hurricane Debby. He closed with a bogey-free 64 finishing almost in the dark. Rai will make his fifth-consecutive Wyndham Championship appearance; he finished tied for fifth last year after winning in 2024.
