Good to see our new buddy Mike at the Sunday afternoon game today…Mike was in here watching the Hoppers, and he is from Leesville, Virginia…Big Pittsburgh Pirates fan, and he like to travel around, and watch the Pirates farm teams play baseball…Mike is a big LONG GONE Baseball Radio Network fan, and he enjoys the LONNNNNNNNNNG GONE Home Run calls, and he also watches the teams play ball, in memory of his son, Ben…Doing a lot of baseball watching, in honor of Ben, who passed away, awhile back…
The Grasshoppers could only muster up 7 Hits on Sunday, and they left men on base, and overall, just let this game get away…For awhile, back early in this contest, the Hoppers had just one hit, and one base runner…And that runner was the Hoppers’ Yordany De Los Santos, after he doubled, and De Los Santas was on at third base, but the Hoppers could not get him in….
If we did not mention it, we should call him out now, while there is still time to get all the good folks moving to the dentist chair, or maybe the Grinder Mendez web…Losing his dental web as he throws, but proposes his way up to throwing range, and working daily to reach the ultimate stage…Not good news for Grinder, who took the loss, but he gave the Hoppers, a strong effort, going 2 1/3 Innings, giving up 2 Runs, on 2 Hits, with 0 BB/2 Ks, but he gave up 2 Home Runs…It was a really rough day for Hopper pitchers, Yulian Quintana and Jose Garces…They combined to give up 8 Runs, on 6 hits, over 1 1/3 Inning…
The Grasshoppers used six different pitchers, and the starter, Bryan Mena, was the only Hopper pitcher to not give up a Home Run, on Sunday…The Hoppers used position player Carlos Caro, to Save their bullpen, and Caro allowed One Run, on 2 hits, with 1 BB/1 K…

Grasshoppers Drop Final Game of Home Series to Hot Rods
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro Grasshoppers fell to the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 13-3, in the final game of their home series. With the win, Bowling Green improved to 25-11 in the second half of the season, while Greensboro fell to 20-16. The Hot Rods outhit the Grasshoppers, 13-7, as Greensboro committed one mishap.
Leading the way at the plate for the Grasshoppers was infielder Jhonny Severino, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored. Sammy Stafura, Yordany De Los Santos, Tony Blanco Jr., Brian Sanchez, and Cam Janik also recorded hits for Greensboro.
Infielder Adrian Santana led the Hot Rods offensively, going 3-for-6 with one RBI. Outfielder Justyn-Henry Malloy followed with a 2-for-2 performance that included a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored. Connor Hujsak and Nicandro Aybar each recorded two hits, while Tony Santa Maria, Ryan McCoy, Noah Myers, and Bryan Broecker also tallied hits for Bowling Green.
Right-handed pitcher Bryan Mena started on the mound for Greensboro, recording three strikeouts while allowing two hits and issuing two free passes over three innings of work. Right-handed pitcher Greiber Mendez was charged with the loss for the Grasshoppers and fell to 0-1 on the season.
Right-handed pitcher Jacob Kisting started for Bowling Green, striking out six batters and allowing one hit over four innings. Right-handed pitcher Noah Beal earned the win for the Hot Rods, improving to 1-0 on the season.
