The WS Dash got a career-type night from CF Ely Brown and he was going all over town, as he went 4-4/2 HRs/2 Runs/4 RBI…Two Home Run shots by Brown, he laid down a perfect hard bunt, and had a ground ball single, and Greensboro was Brown’s town on a Wild Wednesday at FNB Field…The Dash were able to mash the Hoppers’ hopes, and the Hoppers so far this week, have no answer for what the Dash have come here to do, and that is to win baseball games…
Dash now up 2-0, in the Six-Game Series this week, and the Hoppers are still trying to get untracked…The Hoppers had some fine defensive play at second base, coming from Dylan Palmer, and he also had a Double while at the plate…The top Hoppers catch on the night might have come from Hoppers’ GM Tim Vangel, who caught a foul ball as he was standing along the concourse area, just above and behind home plate…The foul ball came Tim’s way, and he was ready and made the Big Catch…And then he did the Best Thing of All, and tossed the ball to kid, who was wearing his glove…Good Job Tim, still finding time to make the big play, while on the job…

Grasshoppers Fall to Dash in Game Two, 7-2

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro Grasshoppers fell to the Winston-Salem Dash, 7-2, on Wednesday, July 12, in game two of their six-game series. With the win, Winston-Salem improved to 22-21 in the second half, while Greensboro fell to 25-19. The Dash outhit the Grasshoppers, 11-5, with both teams committing two mishaps.
Infielder Wyatt Sanford led Greensboro at the plate, going 1-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Edward Florentino, Jared Jones, Jhonny Severino, and Dylan Palmer also recorded hits for the Grasshoppers.
Outfielder Ely Brown paced the Dash offensively, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, four RBI, and two runs scored. Infielder Javier Mogollon added a 2-for-4 performance with one run scored. George Wolkow, Kyle Lodise, and Jeral Perez also recorded hits for Winston-Salem, with Wolkow and Lodise each collecting two.
Right-handed pitcher Hung-Leng Chang started on the mound for Greensboro, striking out seven while allowing seven hits, five earned runs, and two walks over four innings. Chang was charged with the loss and fell to 4-6 on the season.
Drew McDaniel started for Winston-Salem and recorded six strikeouts while allowing two hits and two walks over four innings. Left-handed pitcher Trey Cooper earned the win for the Dash, improving to 2-1 on the season.
