Grasshoppers Close Out Regular-Season Home Games With 10-7 Victory Over Spartanburgers

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the Hub City Spartanburgers 10-7 in their final regular-season game on Sunday, August 30. With the win, the Grasshoppers improved to 36-24 in the second half, while the Spartanburgers fell to 23-37. Hub City outhit Greensboro 11-10, while the Grasshoppers committed one error.
Leading the Grasshoppers at the plate was outfielder Dylan Palmer, who went 2-for-5 with two doubles, one RBI, and one run scored. Infielder Yordany De Los Santos followed with a 2-for-3 performance, including a home run, a double, four RBI, and one run scored. Additional hits for Greensboro came from Wyatt Sanford (2), Edward Florentino (2), Eddie King Jr., and Carlos Caro.
Catcher Arturo De Freitas led the Spartanburgers offensively, going 2-for-4 with a double and one run scored. Designated hitter Quincy Scott went 2-for-5 with a double and one run scored. Additional hits for Hub City came from Paxton Kling (2), Casey Cook (2), Gleider Figuereo, Maxton Martin, and Evan Morrison.
Rehab pitcher Garrett McMillan made the start on the mound for Greensboro, recording two strikeouts while allowing two hits over two innings of work. Right-handed pitcher Hung-Leng Chang earned the win for the Grasshoppers, improving to 6-6 on the season.
Right-handed pitcher Anthony Astudillo started on the mound for Hub City, recording four strikeouts while allowing two hits, two earned runs, and four walks over three innings. Astudillo was charged with the loss, falling to 0-1 on the season.
