For the second week in a row, Chase Briscoe was cool, calm and collected under pressure during the final long run of a NASCAR Cup Series race.

It almost didn’t matter.

Briscoe held the lead for the entirety of the race’s final run after his pit crew got him off pit road first on the final stop and had a lead of over two seconds with 10 laps to go, but his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate in Christopher Bell took chunks out of his lead and had a shot at the win on the final lap.

Bell, giving a Herculean effort, got to the inside of Briscoe on the exit of the final corner but lost by 0.029 seconds in a thrilling photo finish to cap Sunday’s Bank of America 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The win is the eighth of Briscoe’s Cup career, his third of 2026 and his sixth with JGR.

The margin of victory is the slimmest in a Cup Series race this season.

“I got to quit making it so exciting at the end,” Briscoe told USA Network. “Should be three in a row. Glad we were able to redeem ourselves. This pit crew has been unbelievable.”

Bell, Ryan Blaney, Josh Berry and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top five, with points leader and defending champion Kyle Larson, Shane van Gisbergen, Tyler Reddick, Joey Logano and Chris Buescher completing the top 10.
