High School Football Games TONIGHT:
Grimsley(8-0) at Dudley(6-3) 7pm…Game coming up for you on GreensboroSports Radio, with Demetri Morrison and Coach Damon Coiro…Pregame around 6:45, and then it will all come alive at near 7:05, with Grimsley and the Panthers battling in what will be a BIG Metro 7-A/6-A Battle…Ty Shoemake, RB from Grimsley, and Michael Boone, RB from Dudley, will both have you on the edge of your seats…Grimsley QB Brody Lowe can throw to Makai Milton or Alex Cooper, while Dudley QBs Ferrell Price and Zamari Williamson look to Vermont Carmack and Che’Kai Hicks, or Samir Horton…Grimsley has a real good TE, in Ty Pugh…Both the Whirlies and the Panthers have hard-hitting defenses, so this should make for a fun game on GreensboroSports Radio…This is one of our EmergeOrtho Games of the Week…ENJOY!!!
Smith(1-7) at Page(7-1) 7pm…Page looking for a rebound, after last week’s loss to the Grimsley Whirlies…Page will get it rolling early at the Ben L. Smith’ Claude Manzi Stadium…Look for QB Majette and RB Scott to get rolling right out of the gate…Grainger, Lynch, and Poindexter will open for Page, and they will see the ball alot on this night…Smith has the sophomore QB Aiden Sharpless and he is good, but he does not have enough talent around him, to make it all click….Page will be clicking to the tune of about 50 points on this night, and their Pirate Defense, led by LBs Poole and Harty will be hungry…Second Half will be moving fast…
Eastern Guilford(3-4) at Northern Guilford(4-4) 7:30pm…If Grimsley at Dudley is our City Championship Game on this Friday night, then Eastern Guilford at Northern Guilford is our County Championship Game of the Night…Jerman and McGriff, along with Sam Haith IV for EG, and those ‘Cats are real good, then you have Michael Evans, the freshman QB from NG, plus Leach and Timmons in the backfield with Evans, then outside receivers Preston and Cordisco really make Northern go…MJ Smith will anchor the Nighthawks’ lines, but he was sick one day this week, and NG could use Michael Joshua Smith, at full strenth…This is our second EmergeOrtho Game of the Week, so be sure to tune in, on GreensboroSports Radio…Luke Lee joins us for the broadcast and we will get rolling at around 6:45, again right there on
GreensboroSports Radio…
Western Guilford(3-5) at Ragsdale(3-5) 7pm…Thinking WG needs about 35 carries from Hornet RB Oumar Doumbia to make this thing work…Ragsdale counters with Stevenson, Dice, Dines, and Armstrong on offense, and the Tigers have a stout defense too…Leaning toward RHS, due to more pure athletes, and if this though makes Western Guilford mad enough to win, Go Get It…
Southern Guilford(0-8) at Southeast Guilford(1-7) 7:30pm…Amire Barnes with over 30 carries for SEG, and he goes over 1,000 yards for the season…I see Barnes with a minimum of 150 yards rushing, and 3 TDs in this game…SEG will make up for lost times, and put up a bundle of points…
Asheboro(7-1) at Northeast Guilford(6-2) 7:30pm…Britton Brothers are very tough for Asheboro, and this is one of those games where NEG must find a way to Finish A’boro off…Got to have the knockout blow, to put the Comets away…NEG must step up, in order for the Rams to make the run, and get the job done…QBs Zellous and Campbell give NEG enough firepower in the passing department, and the NEG RB Zayne Gibson, is just a freshman, but already among the tops in the county….Gibson will go for at least 175 yards in this game, and if he does, NEG wins it…
Northwest Guilford(0-8) at WS Parkland(3-5) 7pm…Simeon Libby, the NWG RB, could become the top RB in Guilford County after this game is complete…But, NWG needs the “W” more than they need Libby’s rushing totals…But then again, if they could put all phases of the game together, and if Libby goes for 200 yards, that would be like having breakfast at Bojangles…Not a bad deal…Grab a biscuit and a tea, and take it from me, you will see NWG, hit that V-I-C-T-O-R-Y formation…Don’t matter how you do it, just get the “W”…..
Lexington(2-6) at Southwest Guilford(1-7) 7pm…Call me Crazy, but I like Southwest Guilford’s chances in this contest…The C’boys will be missing star RB Sincere Pritchett, but they do get multitasking QB Manny Martin back…Put Martin, and the other C’boys QB Negron in that backfield togther, and the Lexington Yellowjackets won’t “Which Way is Up”…Remember that Richard Pryor movie??? Well, SWG needs to get coming at the ‘Jackets, and make life tough on LEX, at “The Ranch”…..
High Point Andrews(7-1) at Montgomery Central(4-4) 7pm…QB Caleb Moore is back for HP Andrews, and he threw for a TD pass last week, but we will see Kace Shaw carrying on at QB1 for the Andrews Red Raiders…HPA has won too many games, with Shaw at the helm, to look at another direction for starting QB, at this stage of the season…RB Chavone Martin has a chance to hit the end zone Four Times in this ballgame…Also look for Martin at 100-plus yards rushing again…Or as Donald Ware, the N.C. A&T Aggies announcer would say, 100-plus yards, A-Gain….And you have the Andrews freshman receiver RJ Hawkins going for a 1,000-yard season…Hawkins, currently the top receiver, in Guilford County…T. Wingate Andrews has a load of talent, and they are fixin’ to let it loose…
Hickory Grove Christian(7-1) at High Point Christian(6-2) 7pm…HPCA RB Hez Krider, is the top rusher in Guilford County, as we go to press this early morning…Cougars’ QB Amsterdam Knox, is also among the county leaders, in the passing department…But game for HPCA, but they are at home….Home team will need their best performance of the season, to win this one…Time to get after it, High Point Christian Academy…
Triad College Prep and Leadership Academy(1-7) at Bishop McGuinness(3-6) 7pm
Morehead(5-3) at Rockingham County(4-5) 7pm
Oak Grove(6-2) at Glenn(6-2) 7pm
WS Reagan(7-1) at West Forsyth(7-1) 7pm
Western Alamance(5-3) at Burlington Williams(4-2) 7pm
This Week’s Picks, and we went (13-2) last week…(13-4) the week before that, and (14-1), the week before that…So we are doing OK, but could be doing better…Time to have at it…
