    Former HPT Assistant Promoted to Top Position High Point/Thomasville – The High Point-Thomasville HiToms have announced the hiring of Douglas Russ as their 2022 head coach. Russ becomes the 86-year old franchise’s third consecutive manager from the greater High Point/Thomasville Triad community. Serving as the HPT HiToms pitching coach for the 2020 Coastal Plain League Mid-Atlantic Champions, Russ helped the HiToms to a 24-7 overall record. Playing for the HiToms from 2009 to 2011, Jankowski recently posted a 1.42 ERA through 19 innings with the Fresno Grizzlies in the Pacific Coast League before getting his first big league job. The HPT HiToms have the second most number of CPL alumni on Spring Training rosters.
