Senior Day for Macon Smith(Western Guilford HS) at Guilford College on Saturday and the Quaker senior did not disappoint…. Smith went 3-4 with 4 RBI in Game One and then he came back and he was 3-4 with 3 RBI in the nightcap of that doubleheader…. Mike Whited(Ragsdale HS) got his 5th home run of the season for the Quakers in Game Two… Justin Morrison(High Point Christian Academy) got the win in Game Two to go (3-1)….. GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College junior John Macon Smith(Western Guilford High School) collected the Old Dominion Athletic Conference’s (ODAC) first Baseball Player Hitter of the Week Award Monday. He was also named the Guilford Student-Athlete by the school’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Smith, a 6-2, 200-pound center fielder, went five-for-nine with a homer and three runs batted in (RBI) in the Quakers’ season-opening split with Piedmont (Ga.) College Feb. 2-3. Guilford Routs Eastern Mennonite, 18-5 GREENSBORO, N.C. – John Macon Smith had three hits, including his NCAA Division III-leading 11th homer of the season, and a career-high six RBI in Guilford College’s 18-5 win over Eastern Mennonite University Sunday. Justin Pittman also homered for Guilford in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) baseball game at McBane Field. The Quakers (21-16, 9-7 ODAC) banged out 18 hits for the fifth time this season and batted around in the fourth and seventh innings. They scored a season-high 18 runs in the win.
