    Southeast Falls to Gray’s Creek in Final Seconds in Second Round of 3AA Playoffs 39-35 – Wyatt Smith Reporting

    The sixth-ranked Southeast Guilford Falcons fell to the 14th-ranked Gray’s Creek Bears in a game that was decided in the final seconds. The Bears recovered an onside-kick and drove downfield to score the winning touchdown with 48.7 seconds remaining to make the score 39-35. They then held the Falcons from scoring to win the game. Southeast looked to be in control early as they scored two touchdowns in the first quarter, a rushing touchdown by Jalen Fairley and a reception by Adam Douglas to put the team up 12-0 at the end of the first quarter.     Northwest Guilford Completes Comeback to Top Southeast Guilford in Overtime – Wyatt Smith Reporting

    After being down 21-6 early in the third quarter, the Northwest Guilford Vikings completed a monumental comeback to squeak by the Southeast Guilford Falcons in overtime by a score of 28-27 on Friday night at R.L. Billings Stadium in Greensboro. The Vikings were able to recover from a late-game turnover inside the red zone as they completed the comeback on a Johnny Pagano touchdown run with 1:24 remaining to play in regulation.     Team Effort Propels Southeast Guilford Past Southern Guilford 34-21 – Wyatt Smith Reporting

    Ryan Douglas accounted for three Southeast Guilford touchdowns and the Falcon defense held strong as the Falcons beat the Southern Guilford Storm 34-21 at C.K.  Siler Stadium on Friday night. Neither team scored in the first quarter. The Falcons had the only scoring chance with first-and-goal on the Storm nine yard line, but Southern’s Patrick Clegg intercepted Ryan Douglas, ending the threat. Southeast began a scoring frenzy in the second quarter on a 16-yard touchdown reception by Brent Apple.     Steven Baldwin(Southeast Guilford High School) joins Guilford College Quakers’ football team for the Fall of 2016….. Steven Baldwin (Greensboro, N.C.) lettered three years for coach Walter(Fritz) Hessenthaler at nearby Southeast Guilford High School. The 5-9, 190-pound running back led Guilford County with 1,202 rushing yards last fall en route to All-Metro 4A conference honors as well as all-area and all-state honorable mentions. In two seasons as the Falcons’ primary running back, Baldwin totaled over 1,800 yards and 17 touchdowns. He plans to study business administration.
