NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Elon University women’s track and field team concluded action today at the CNU Captain’s Invitational at the Freeman Center with several top performances. Elon dominated the one-mile run, placing four in the top-10, including the top three spots. Allyson Oram took first at 5:12.28, followed by Haylee Dawe (5:16.14) in second and Morgan Denecke (5:18.03) in third. Oram’s mile time of 5:12.28 ranks fourth all-time in program history. LYNCBURG, Va. – The Elon track and field team opened the season strong with several great performances at the Liberty Kickoff, including two titles. The Phoenix swept the podium in the 400-meter dash and won the 4×400-meter relay for the second straight year. Amy Salek, Bria Bell and Veronica Luedke claimed first through third, respectively, for Elon in the 400m. Salek clocked a time of 56.88, while Bell and Luedke followed with times of 59.23 and 59.59.
