Many of our teams have finished their seasons but here’s what’s left of our Top Ten teams:
#1)Appalachian State(9-2) LW1-last week defeated Chattanooga 37-17 and this week they will host James Madison in round one of the playoffs.
#2)Catawba(11-1) LW2-stopped Albany State, Ga. 66-35 last Saturday and now move on to round two against Valdosta State University in Georgia.
#3)Wake Forest(7-4) LW4-took care of the Wolfpack from N.C. State 38-18 and close out the regular season this Saturday at Vanderbilt.
#4)East Carolina(6-5) LW5-off last week, finish up with Tulane on Saturday.
#5)N.C. State(5-6) LW3-fell to WFU in Winston-Salem, end up the regular season with Maryland at home Saturday.
#6)N.C. Wesleyan(9-2) LW9-won in overtime 35-34 over Washington and Jefferson and now the Bishops have Mary Hardin-Baylor at Belton, Texas in round two this week.
#7)Elon(7-4) LW5-closed out the year with a 38-23 win over Stony Brook.
#8)Winston-Salem State(6-5) LW6-tough 23-20 loss to Norfolk State to end the year last Saturday.
#9)Guilford(6-4) LW8-season complete.
#10)Davidson(6-4) LW10-season complete.
Shaw out of Raleigh is 8-3 and the CIAA champs and they might be headed to the Pioneer Bowl. Learned this today while reading the Carolina Peacemaker at the McGirt Horton Library on Phillips Avenue. Way to go Shaw(Bears?) and we hope to have to have in the poll next week if you keep on winning.
