North Carolina State point guard Farnold Degand is out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament, the Associated Press reported on Monday.
Sidney Lowe said today that Degand suffered the injury in Sunday night’s game against Cincinnati at the RBC Center. The coach said Degand will need surgery.
Degand, who came to Raleigh from Iowa State, has played in all 10 games for State and was averaging 6.9 points per game.
With the injury to Degand, the Wolfpack will look to freshman Javier Gonzalez and Tennessee transfer Marques Johnson to step in and take over the point guard position.
