There are several key games in the area this evening and it’s time to get out catch a local high school contest. These games for both boys and girls are on the slate for this evening:
Dudley at Morehead
Western Alamance at NEG
Northern Guilford at WG
HP Central at Grimsley
East Forsyth at Page
NWG at Smith
Asheboro at SEG
SWG vs. Eastern Guilford at UNCG
From last evening the Ragsdale boys gave Trinity their first loss of the season 58-55 in Jamestown. The Tigers(13-2) were led by Jay Canty with 20, Ladarious Canty 13, and Wally Jones 11. Trinity falls to (14-1) with their first loss of the year. Jeff Carlton said he made a typo in last week’s News and Record and Tim Kelly, the Trinity Bulldogs coach, record should read 363-128 in 18+ seasons. Ragsdale is now the number one team in the Mid-Piedmont 3-A conference.
Elsewhere last night the Ragsdale girls(11-2) also took care of Trinity 65-31. Southern Guilford ran right past WS Atkins 67-32 and The Shining Light Academy defeated Roxboro to move to (9-0) for 2007/2008.
that would be the #1 team in the Mid-Piedmont 3A. If you didn’t go to that game last night you missed a great one. It was close the whole way, each team would build small leads then lose them. I think six points was the biggest lead either team had. Ragsdale fell behind by six in the fourth after Trinity scored eleven straight but closed with a 9-1 run for the win. Tremendous defense played by both teams, but Ragsdale had too much for the Bulldogs last night.
The Ragsdale conference is tough one with Dudley and NEG in the Triad 3-A and Glenn, SWG, HP Andrews and companay in the Piedmont Triad 3-A and then there’s Mid -Piedmont 3-A. Thanks when it’s not football season and they are not printing the conferences on a regular basis then it can get guessy if that’s a conference word.
