Greensboro, N.C. — Freshman Danielle Duncan scored scored 27 points and had 18 rebounds to lead Greensboro College to a 89-51 win over North Carolina Wesleyan in a USA South quarterfinal game on Tuesday.
The Pride’s Nikki Wilborn, also a freshman, added 22 points, was 8-11 from the field, had 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Dione Eccles added 8 points 11 points and 8 rebounds.
GC led 49-34 at halftime. The home team, however, outscored the Bishops 40-17 in the last 20 minutes.
Greensboro out rebounded NC Wesleyan 56-38. The Pride shot 51 percent (32-63) to 24-percent (16-68) for the Bishops.
Essence Chambers tallied 14 points to lead NCWC. Courtney Brown had 12 points as she made her first 4 three-pointers of the game in the first half.
