MIAMI — Matt Dominguez, the Florida Marlins’ first-round pick in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft, has opened his Minor League season on the disabled list with mononucleosis.
The 18-year-old Dominguez, selected 12th overall last year, was placed on low Class A Greensboro’s disabled list last Friday.
A graduate of Chatsworth High School in California, Dominguez is regarded as the franchise’s third baseman of the future. This is his first full season of professional baseball.
He went on the DL before seeing action in a game.
After signing last year, Dominguez played in 10 Minor League games, including 10 with short-season Jamestown.

I heard Matt was back and doing very good now for the Greensboro team, and that he got three hits today, May 27.
