Triad Power Softball headed to Myrtle Beach…

The Triad Power 12u travels to Myrtle Beach, SC. to participate in the World Fastpitch Connection World Series. The Power is closing out its 2008 spring season at the WFC World Series starting on Tuesday. They will play three pool games and then start a double elimination tournament starting Thursday. All of their games will be played at Pepper-Gedding softball complex.

Monday the teams gather for opening ceremonies and participate in games like the homerun derby and base running contest. They will also have pin trading and a gift bag exchange. There are eighteen teams participating in the 12u division, they come from NC, SC, OH and NJ. The championship game is scheduled for Saturday.

The Power had a very successful 2008 spring season. They finished first in a few tournaments and placed in the top five in several others. At the NSA State Championship A-Bracket the Power took 5th against the top fifteen teams in NC. They also finished 3rd in the WFC State Tournament. The Power has high expectations for the WFC World Series and plans to bring back a good finish to Greensboro.
