The Greensboro Green Colt baseball team coached by Alan Ashkinazy got the win today in round one of the Colt World Series in Lafayette, Indiana.
Greensboro Green defeated Central Michigan 10-5 as Greensboro got key hits against a North Michigan pitcher who had not given up a single run in his 26 previous innings. Glen Clemmons got things started going 2-4 with a triple and a single and 2RBI’s. Corey McKinney scored three runs and he went 3-4 with two doubles and a single. Tivon Clark was 2-3 for the Greensboro Green Colt All-Stars and Sawyer Highfill went 1-3 and he scored one run.
Brock Hudgens got the win going five innings, and he gave up five runs on three hits and he struck out six North Michigan batters. Steven Mekita came to get the save for Greensboro Green.
Greensboro Green will be in action again on Friday at 2:30pm versus Cauin(CA). The Green team is now (1-0) in the tournament after today’s Series-opening victory.
