Former Wolfpacker Jones wins GOLD in Beijing

Former NC State All-American swimmer Cullen Jones and his USA teammates took the gold medal in the 400 free relay at the Olympics in Beijing on Sunday Night.

Team USA won the race during the relay’s final leg on a strong effort by Jason Lezak.

  1. I just watched the video of Cullen through the link you provided. This is a really great kid and is a credit to NC State. I hope that the university will do more to promote his ties to NCSU. What a great race by the USA especially Lezak. France is talking a lot smack but it was the good ol’ USA that laid the smack DOWN!

  2. Cullen seems like a great young man and I am proud that he comes from the Wolfpack family. Cullen is only the second African-American swimmer to win a gold medal at the Olympics. He was interviewed this morning on the Today Show and he seemed very humble and well grounded. Way to go Cullen Jones and Team USA.
