Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Couture

Brock Lesnar could be part of the biggest MMA fight of the year if UFC is able to finalize negotiations with Randy Couture, who left the company nine months ago in a contract dispute. The Wrestling Observer website reports that Couture is negotiating a three-fight deal with UFC, and there are discussions regarding a Lesnar vs. Couture fight for November.

from Jason Powell at www.prowrestling.net: Lesnar vs. Couture would be one of the biggest fights in UFC history. It seems like it’s early in Brock’s MMA career for him to face someone as skilled as Couture, but I assume Dana White doesn’t want one of them losing to another opponent before they meet for the first time. Although Couture is a legend, he hasn’t fought in nearly a year due to the contract dispute and he turned 45 a couple months back.

  1. UFC couldn’t make the fight happen between Randy Couture and Fedor Emelianeko last year. Randy wanted that one last fight before finally retiring but after one year of litigation later we now get to see Couture in one of the most heavily anticipated fights leading up his potential bout with Fedor Emelianenko:

Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar (with the power behind Brock Lesnar there is much to be concerned about for Randy…but then again he always finds a way to neutralize his opponents and shut all his critics up)

    If he wins:

Randy Couture vs winner of Frank Mir / Minotauro Nogeira

then finally if he wins we’ll be treated to the fight of the decade:

    Randy Couture vs. Fedor Emelianenko

Go Randy! If he makes it all the way to Fedor and defeats him he will make MMA history for years to come. What a way to retire.

It is a like a multi UFC Heavyweight tournament for Randy Couture.
