Did the County make the right call?

No games tonight or at least it looks that way…….Did the county make the right call by calling off school for today? What kind of shape were the roads in, out in your part of the county????? Would a 2-hour delay have been a better plan of attack?

Just curious and just asking questions and looking for some answers. We hear that all the counties around us went on with the two-hour delay.

Today’s conditions seemed similar to what we had back on that Friday during the football season when we had the light snow and then it got ice cold, but on that day the schools went on a 2-hour delay. That was the same night that Ragsdale was playing Western Guilford in the second round of the State Playoffs and school let in two hours late and they played the game that night and brother it was cold…..

Who knows, but what do you think? Did the county make the right call, when they called off school for today?????

Games that were scheduled for tonight and we assume they will all be moved to Wednesday evening:

Dudley at Northern(Major meeting in the boys game. NG win could forcde a tie in Triad 3-A standings.)
Randleman at Ragsdale(Jamestown Tigers set to take it all in boys and girls Mid-Piedmont 3-A.)
Page at Smith(Big-time re-match in the girls contest)
Eastern at McMichael(The EG girls are unbeaten in the conference)
West Stokes at Southern(Girl’s teams tied for second in North State 2-A)
High Point Central at Northwwest Guilford(Not many teams still have a chance to beat NWG girls in the Metro 4-A. HPC does, but will the real Bison show up?)
Grimsley at East Forsyth(Last time the Whirlie boys won this game by something like, 61-58.)
WS Reagan at High Point Andrews(Red Raider boys still have not lost to a Piedmont-Triad team.)
Rockingham County at Western Guilford(Hornets still want to keep a lock on third in the Triad 3-A.)
Morehead at Northeast(The Lady Rams can still make some noise in the Triad 3-A.)
Southeast Guilford at Southwestern Randolph(Will Amy Beasley return tonight/tomorrow night for the Falcons?)
WS Parkland at Southwest(SWG girls have been hot as of late.)

Somoe of these games might get played TONIGHT:

  1. A 2 hour delay would have been perfect. The temperature was going to rise to 42 and the roads would have been fine. I commuted to Winston at 7:30 and had no problems at all.

  2. Does anyone know who in the County School System chain of command makes this call?

This hurts the kids that want to go to school.

  3. No, I don’t think that school games should not be played because there is going to be a big game tonight with Dudley coming to Northern. The last game these two teams played against each other Northern lost a heart breaker by 1 point(61-60).
