Dudley girls get past Graham in Alamance County

Dudley girls at Graham on Saturday afternoon and the Panthers posted a 68-65 win over the Red Devils down in Alamance County.

The ladies from Panther-land move to (20-2) on the season and Graham drops just their second game of the year, with the Red Devils only previous loss coming to Hank Bullard’s Grimsley Whirlies in the Graham Christmas Tournament.

Dudley was led by Mars Hill-signee Helen Terry with 16 points, Jessica Farr had 14, while Brianna Patterson and Portia Roach came home with 11 each.

I’m wondering if the Dudley girls still have a game with Bishop McGuinness coming up or if that game has already been played or are they playing each other twice????? I was glancing at a schedule last week and I thought I saw Dudley-Bishop coming up. The Dudley-Bishop boys would be a fun game too…….

  1. The Bishop McGuiness game was played at the beginning of the season because of scheduling issues with Bishop. Bishop McGuiness won that game. They are not playing each other twice. Both teams normally try and schedule that game this time of the year as a ” tune up” game for the playoffs. I would love to see them play each other now that both teams are now seasoned. Thats why Dudley picked up the Graham game to get some good competition before the playoffs.

  2. Thanks for the clarifcation. The Graham game was a good tune-up for the Dudley girls here late in the regular season.

  3. With Rockingham County losing the other night, it looks like the top two teams in the 3-A East playoffs will be Dudley and Eastern Alamance.

The winner of that game will probably get to the State Championship game.

  4. South Central, Western Harnett and Beddingfield are in the east as well and are pretty good. We will just have to wait and see but I would love to see Coach Britton play for a state title.
