Girl’s HS Basketball Playoffs Tonight

It all gets going Tonight and let’s hope we still have a ton of teams left after Round One of the playoffs. Did you like our coverage from last night?

Joe Barile and I were at Page and then I left Page at halftime and went over to catch the second half at Grimsley. We had reports from Coach K at Northern and Joe hit the nchsaa.org site and took care of most of the remaining scores and Rusty Lee E-mailed us info as well.

It’s sort of strange/weird to see Grimsley gone after Round One and with the Whirlie girls not in the picture at all, it has been a big change from last year. Just a thought, from the food for thought department.

Girl’s action gets rolling this evening and you can see the Eastern Guilford girls battling Northwood at UNCG and we have many more teams at home tonight. Earlier we had reported that Northern would be at home, but Coach Kim Furlough and her young ladies will make the trip down to Union Pines in Cameron, home of the Hardy Boys(Jeff and Matt).

Here are the games for this evening and Northwest Guilford with the trio of Gretchen Bennett, Hannah McIntosh and Melissa Foures might have a shot a good Home run in the playoffs.

That matchup with High Point Andrews(14-10) at Ragsdale(22-4) should be fun with HPA led by Tonisha Baker, Toney Baker’s sister, and we all remember Touchdown Toney and his football career at Ragsdale. Tonisha Baker, taking it back to Jamestown, as Tonisha(TB) takes on the Tigers.

Western Guilford has qualified for the playoffs for the first time in a while and the Hornets travel to face (19-2) Oxford Webb. Our good friend William Whitaker has his Southern Guilford Storm girls loaded up and on the bus headed to Goldsboro.

Don’t you just love the playoffs and all the possibilities that they provide? Again here is the schedule and as you can tell, we love this stuff.
