Area Youngster Headed to Basketball Hall of Fame

From our friends at Greensboro Elks Lodge #602

Jordan Perkins, who won the local Elks Hoop Shoot Contest in the 10-11 year old bracket, has advanced to the Elks National Hoop Shoot Contest in Springfield, Mass. on April 25th.

Last Saturday in Fredrick, MD, Perkins made 22 out of 25 free throws to win the regional championship and becomes one of only 72 youths in the country to advance to the national contest held at the Basketball Hall of Fame. Last month, Perkins won the state contest held in Sawyer Gym at Grimsley High School.

All National winners will have their names placed on a plaque which will be on display at the Hall of Fame in Springfield.

We wish Jordan the best of luck!

  1. Jordan Perkins is one of three boys from North Carolina who will be competing in Springfield at the National Contest. Ryan Grice from Stanley (8-9) and Zebulon Alford from Raleigh (12-13) are also headed to the HofF. North Carolina’s Jacob Hartle won the National Championship in his age bracket last year.

  2. Good luck to Jordan Perkins. Great basketball family with father Reggie and Jordan’s older brother Reggie Jr. who will be at Dave Telep’s Challenge camp on Saturday in Cary, N.C.

  3. Thanks for the love Andy…We fly out next thursday night…Taking Reggie to Harvard for an unofficial visit on Friday. I will let you know how it goes..
