Southeast Guilford JV’s have a fine 2009

It was a memorable season for the Southeast Guilford JV baseball team. It brings back thoughts for many Falcons of the great times they had back in middle school with the long-time Falcon leader David Beasley.

This year’s edition of Southeast Guilford JV baseball did so well they probably will be talking about these kids at the old Marion’s Corner store for years to come.

Here’s some of the inside news on the fine 2009 Southeast Guilford Falcon JV baseball team:

The Southeast Guilford JV team finished their 2009 season Thursday with a 7-4 victory over Ragsdale. This game turned out to be for the conference championship so the guys won it all with an overall record of 14-2 and an 11-1 conference record.

They outscored their opponents this year 187-56.

In Thursday’s big win over Ragsdale, Austin Bain was the winning pitcher going the full 7 innings.

Brent Frazier and Taylor Callahan went 3 for 4 at the plate and Dylan Barker went 2 for 3.

Rounding out the rest of the roster this year was Justin Reece, Tim Amick, Dylan Shutt, Austin Wallace, DJ Flinchum, Craig Jacobelli, Leon Smith, Dallas Newton, Cole Kellner, and Tyler Miles.

Coaches Chuck Doak and Joe Lamanna.

Everyone down at Southeast Guilford is very proud of this group of JV kids…They were all freshman starters except for 2 sophmores.

  1. Southeast Falcon baseball is on the rise! We can’t wait to see the underclassmen continue to develop and play together at a high level! The opportunity to play Junior Legion this summer will unify and develop all kids who participate. This is a great opportunity to continue developing the strength of SE Guilford baseball and it starts soon!

  2. BAm99…..whatever your mad about from last year…you need to get over it…..congrats to that team also…they were a fine group.

  3. I think the 2008 SE JV team tied for first in their conference vs. winning it outright. They are a good group of kids none the less.
