*****A big win for The Elks on the road in Chatham County.*****

North Chatham rebounded to beat the Diamonbacks 13-3 in the second game of the double-header in Pittsboro. Josh Phillips, Clay Martin and Heath Causey all homered for the Tar Heels who improved to 5-1 in league play. Desmond Cheek took the win on the mound.

Reno’s is starting to roll with another win tonight at War Memorial Stadium, this time over The Villains in four and-a-half innings. We saw some of the kids we’ve been hearing about, Brandon Wyrick and Taylor Atkins in particular and there’s a couple of other guys on this team that we’ve been getting the word on. Maybe somebody can fill us back in. Was the pitcher tonight for Reno’s Derek Holbrook????

The score:
Reno’s 15
Villains 0

Four and-a-half innings

Line score:
Reno’s 15-5-2
Villains 0-4-4

Palomino standings as of today and tonight:
Chatham County (5-1)
Reno’s (5-2)
Elks (5-3)
Diamondbacks (2-6)
Villains (1-6)

We’ll need an update on The Elks at Chatham to have complete results and if The Diamondbacks were in action we would need that too to have complete results, but I think the D’Backs were idle tonight…….*****We got the updates, and thanks to TN and Don.*****

  1. derek closed……starter was curtis ? from northeast, then ethan payne came in relief, and derek finished

  2. Crawford had a great game last night and was also intentionally walked. Showed why he is a DI signee for sure and Scales pitched a great game as well. Congrats to the Elks on the win.

  3. In the route put on by chatam against the D-backs there was one shine moment for the D-backs and that was Joe Turkson’s home run late in the field. But Chatam put on a great show, there pitching was strong and there bats were clicking too. But the 2nd home run in the 3 home run inning was possibly one of the longest home runs hit that I have seen, the ball was still on the rise as the ball left the field. Great Game all around.
