The track of Zach and a Good game for Alex and Via at C-N

As we continue to track Zach, he took a sack, but he’s still battling back at Buffalo where the Bulls dropped a tough one to the Knights of Central Florida, the same team that East Carolina faces this weekend in Greenville.

QB Zach Maynard(Grimsley HS) went 22-35 for 184 yards with one TD pass and one INT and he was sacked three times as the Buffalo Bulls lost 23-17 to the UCF Knights.

Maynard and his Buffalo Bulls will be at Temple in Philadelphia for a noon game this Saturday……

The Carson-Newman Eagles snapped Pembroke’s 10-game winning streak with a 35-22 victory Saturday up in Jefferson City, Tennessee . Quarterback Alex Good(Southern Guilford HS) helped pace the Eagles to the win.

C-N quarterback Alex Good (Greensboro, N.C.) had 43 yards rushing and a score and also finished with 73 yards passing.

Good is a senior signal-caller and he is joined on the team by Stephen Via a junior tight end from Page High School. Via had been nursing a broken finger, but he is now back at pretty much full-strength as he teams up with QB Alex to give Carson-Newman a very Good shot at another successful season in Jefferson City.

Not much news to report on our local kids from Pembroke, but Donald Britt the former QB at Western Alamance did have 74 total yards for the UNCP Braves. Britt is working as a true-freshman wide receiver and a return-man.

Defensively, linebacker Jamaral Rease(Grimsley HS), had two tackles and two assists the UNCP Braves.
