Keenan Allen named to US Army Player of the Year Watch List

WHARTON, NJ — The U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Committee has announced that 30 student-athletes have been named to the watch list for the prestigious 2010 U.S. Army Player of the Year Award, considered high school football’s highest honor.

The U.S. Army Player of the Year award is awarded to the nation’s most outstanding senior in high school football. The six finalists for the award will be announced in San Antonio in early December.

The U.S. Army Player of the Year will be crowned during the U.S. Army Awards Dinner on Friday, January 8, 2010, in San Antonio, where the winner will be presented with the Ken Hall Trophy, modeled after Ken “Sugar Land Express” Hall, high school football’s all-time leading rusher.

The selection process officially kicks off with the announcement of this watch list.

Consideration will continue this fall as players will be evaluated by coaches from around the country and the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Committee. The 2010 U.S. Army Player of the Year watch list serves as an unofficial list of players contending for the award. The following student-athletes have made the list:
