Proehlific Power goes to (7-0) with win at Chester, South Carolina

The Proehlific Power Senior team defeated Chester, South Carolina Post 27 American Legion team 15-5 Sunday afternoon in Chester.

Chester scored 2 runs in the bottom of the first on 2 hits and 1 error. The Power came back in the top of the 2nd and scored 2 to tie the game on back to back to back hits by Corey Shelton, Lee Gilliam and D.J. Russ. Chester scored 2 more in the bottom of the 4th to take a 4-2 lead. Chester maintained the 4-2 lead until the top of the 8th when the Power’s bats came alive and scored 10 runs.

Hits by Lee Gilliam, Andrew Parker, Craig Erskine, Robbie McIntosh along with walks to Danny Casciano D.J. Russ and Heath Causey provided the necessary momentum for the 10 run 8th.

The Power added 3 more runs in the top of the 9th. Craig Erskine hit a solo home run for 1 of the runs in the 9th.

Lee Gilliam (Chapel Hill) had 4 hits on the day with 4 rbi’s. Craig Erskine (A& T) had a 2b and homerun on the day with 4 rbi’s. Corey Shelton (UNC) and Robbie McIntosh (UNC-A) had 2 hits apiece. Brent Moore, Robbie
McIntosh and David Frances pitched for the Power. McIntosh was credited with the win. The Power improve their record to 7-0.

The Power play at home Tuesday night at 7:00 at Northern Guilford.
