It has been a great week for East-West All-Stars festivities hosted by the North Carolina Coaches Association, and it all came to a head as the games concluded with last night’s football game….
The boys basketball game earlier in the week at the Greensboro Coliseum was one of the best if not closest games in the history of the event, with the East boys bouncing back to win the contest 99-98…..The East was down at one point in the second half 71-54, before they rallied behind Reggie Bullock and Tashawn Mabry…
The football game on Wednesday night had one element that many of the fans were looking for and that was scoring….The West wins out 22-7, and on a great local note, Josh Morehead(DB) from Eastern Guilford, get named the MVP on defense…..
Josh had a key interception and he also recovered a fumble….Nice game to unofficially open up our area high school football seasons and they will get rolling with practice one week from next Monday, on August 2nd….Many teams are still working their 7 on 7 competitions, with Grimsley hosting Winston-Salem Atkins tonight….Page hooked up with Southern Guilford for a second time back on Tuesday and Page will conduct their pre-season mini-camp beginning next Monday, July 26 from 8-11:30 in the morning and it will run through next Friday July 30…..
