With starting quarterback Matt Moore’s status up in the air after his concussion against the Giants, the Panthers could be looking for another quarterback. They have one candidate already on the roster, although former Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards said his focus is elsewhere.
“I haven’t thought about it. I got drafted as a receiver, so I’m trying to focus on that as much as I can,” he said. “If they try to switch me over, then I’ll do whatever they need me to.”
Edwards was 42-7 as a starter at Appalachian State and led the Mountaineers to two Football Championship Subdivision titles. He lined up at quarterback for parts of two series during the final exhibition at Pittsburgh.
